THE LAST OF SUMMER with DELICIOUS EASY RECIPES

I am very anxious to see August leave us....
it is so miserable and oppressive when you walk outside...
and it just zaps my energy and enthusiasm...
it's been triple digits day after day, so we find ways to
be productive indoors...except for a few minutes porch sitting
and watering the plants in the early morning....
just keeping it real.....

This is our house in the summer afternoons....

A delicious way to stay hydrated is with
Blueberry Lemonade!

This cold swiss cheese spread makes a great summer snack;;;
very much like pimento cheese and it's not only
light and refreshing, it's filling!

This has become my favorite lunch for these hot days....
one piece of rye bread, toasted, layered with
crisp lettuce, fresh tomato slices and homemade egg salad!

I came across this easy apple cake on Pinterest and it
is marvelous for a small cake...using only one apple.....

This is great for breakfast or a sweet ending with ice cream....

MUFFULETTA BREAD....A NEW ORLEANS CLASSIC

HAPPY OCTOBER LOVES.....
It's football season and we have been long awaiting
some SEC game watching Saturdays!
We were so unsure of what the football season was going to
look like or wondering if there would even BE any games
this season, but so far.....it's looking positive!

It's the perfect time to prepare some great tailgating recipes
for game watching and today....we are making
the classic Muffuletta but are kicking it up a notch
by wrapping all the good stuff into pizza dough.....
we're going to bake it and make a hot, melty delicious sandwich
to enjoy during halftime!

I LUV Giardiniera......I mean LOVE IT!

First we must set the stage, so to speak,
to make the table a little fun and festive
with a seasonal look....but keeping it very casual......

My all time favorite fall napkins....

Remember that great commercial.....
"I'd like to buy the world a coke...."

A fun little tea towel to drape over the serving board......

Devil's Food cupcakes for a special treat....

This baked up beautifully.....

OH Yum.....here's the recipe.....

AUSTIN WEEKEND and WINNING RECIPES

"What you surround yourself with
 should bring you
peace of mind and peace of spirit."
 ~Stacy London

THIS....my loves.....is a gift of the day...
The Divine Miss M captured this stunning sunset out her back window
last Monday evening....it is indeed breathtaking isn't it?

It was a beautiful weekend down in our state capital ....
sunshine and perfect weather for cocktails on the patio....
We had Sunday brunch at our favorite 24 Diner
before heading home to watch the Superbowl...

I am such a creature of habit and always order the same...
one slice of sourdough toast with fresh jam and
the yummy yogurt parfait with fruit and homemade granola...

Do you notice that darling little syrup dispenser on the table
at 24 Diner.....well....I just loved it....
so.....I found one just like it on Amazon!
Luke loves my french toast, so I plan to use it for his
morning breakfast..just darling...it's a little beehive look!!!

I wanted to try someplace new to us for dinner,
and Moonshine Grill was my selection....
I will say, when in Austin, you will never run out
of fabulous restaurants...

It is always a treat to us to spend a weekend with our youngest....
we never fail to have a great time.....

Saturday night is busy everywhere these days but the wait
was only about 15 or 20 minutes....
great atmosphere....

Let's see....we dined on Ribs, Shrimp, Grits and Salmon....

We dashed into an HEB quickly so I could pick up a few jars of
this Green Chili Stew...my plan is making
Nick's Chicken Spaghetti which has become his specialty when
providing dinner for either the football team or basketball team....
yes, he feeds the entire team!!!

Now onto some fabulous recipes which I know you will love.....
we sure did!

Are your thoughts jumping forward to Spring.....
I love thinking about that time of year, when all
the nasty winter weather has left us until next year...
we have a ways to go, but it's good to plan
for the gardens and for Easter Sunday!

I cannot wait to hang this on our backdoor.....
perhaps not until April......

Mae Mobley just seems to get prettier every day....
gosh I just adore her!
Hope y'all have a great week...thanks for stopping by today!

DELICIOUS RECIPES YOU WILL WANT TO TRY!

I will always do my very best to bring
you the best of the best recipes for your family!
One of my passions is cooking and baking and
all of these recipes are keepers!
Not only are they marvelous tasting,
they are all easy to prepare, without buying
a lot of ingredients....which I love!
So, Estelle's has you covered for breakfast, lunch and dinner
and also a divine sweet ending!

I purchased the Birch Benders Pancake and Waffle Mix
on a whim one day while shopping at Market Street and I will tell you,
it was LOVE at first bite!
We liked these so much, that I bought packages for all
of my children!
Our favorites are the Chocolate Chip, Cinnamon and Buttermilk!

I love adding fresh berries to pancakes....nothing better!

Treat yourself and those you love to a beautiful breakfast this week!
If you are unable to find this brand at your local grocery,
then you can order them from Amazon!
It is simply THE BEST!

PHILLY SLOPPY JOES!
Oh yes...this is a man-pleasing lunch and/or dinner!
I served these hearty sandwiches on toasted bakery buns, with Air Fryer potatoes!

The BAKED CHICKEN CAESAR PARM!
We both gave this two thumbs up and served this with
hot buttery rice and seasoned broccoli!

I am all about using a cake mix when trying out a new cake recipe...
at least for me, they seem to turn out better than baking from scratch!
This one did not disappoint!
It is so easy, so moist and tender and absolutely delicious!!!

The homemade cream cheese icing is wonderful...
I do not like a lot of icing on our cakes so I only frost the middle
and top of the cakes...but this recipes makes enough for the entire cake
if you prefer....this cake should be covered and kept in the fridge...
then allow to come to room temp when ready to serve!

I so hope you found something you would like to try...
isn't that the most wonderful thing about blogging?
Meeting new friends and sharing ...remember y'all....
BE BLESSED AND BE KIND!

WHO DOESN'T LOVE A GOOD PASTRAMI REUBEN?

Good Sunday Morning Loves!
We Texans awoke to the sound of rain and thunder
on Saturday...which is music to our ears in June!

We even enjoyed temperatures in the 70's!!

Will you just look at this!!!
I just did a double take when I spied this lovely pitcher!
Soft pastels, a handsome rooster and toile.....
everything I absolutely love.....

So....into the basket it went,
along with some beautiful pink snapdragons!
Did you realize that yesterday was
NATIONAL PINK DAY?
Wonder who makes this stuff up?
Anyhoo......I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS PITCHER!

So.....the darling and I are known to be a fan of
Diners, Drive-In's and Dives.....
an episode we watched the other evening, presented
a diner that made a divine pastrami Reuben, which
happens to be a favorite of mine....
so this inspired me to serve up the best one ever!
Here are the ingredients you will need......

 Saute' your pastrami in butter.
Spread rye bread slices with Dijon mustard and
thousand island dressing.
Toast bread in the oven for a few minutes.
Then build your sandwich with hot pastrami,
Swiss cheese and sauerkraut.
Grill on each side as you would a grilled cheese.
OH HONEY BABY.....

This did not disappoint!

Mae Mobley wishes you all a great Sunday.....gentle hugs!
