TRANSITION INTO FALL WITH THESE BEAUTY FAVORITES

We ALL love to read about what other women
are loving on their vanities!
It's so important to remember that summer sun
causes aging to our face and hands, probably more than we realize
and no matter how careful we are when enjoying
the outdoors during these past months!

I have received so many requests to post
more beauty product favorites,
so today I'm taking a break from fall...
to focus on the "end of summer!"

These are current beauty favorites
from
The Divine Miss M and me.....
(Just so there is no confusion, I am the one of the right with the aging face...)

I will say both of us are careful about skin products
knowing that we have sensitive skin and the products
that we love never have caused a breakout!
Skin care products do not have to be expensive!
Any good dermatologist will tell you
that you are paying for the "packaging!"

I ADORE St. Ives products!
There will always be one of their facial products
on my side of the vanity!

I'll start with their new Pink Lemon and Mandarin Orange Scrub....
it's a marvelous "moderate" exfoliant with just
a tiny hint of citrus scent.
It is one of my all time favorites to use with
the Oil of Olay facial brush.

We always, always, always protect
our hands, lips and  face
with SPF cream.
I make it a habit to use Equate SPF 50
during the late summer months and continue to apply
it daily all through the fall and winter.

I have found Equate products to be every bit
as good as more expensive products.
You know you cannot hide your age based on your "hands"
no matter how much you try to achieve a more youthful appearance
to your face!

For the sensitive eye area,
we both love DHC's Olive Virgin Oil...
It is a luxurious oil which keeps the skin around
your eyes from looking dry and tired.

For a daytime facial moisturizer
I am loving the St. Ives Timeless Skin
Collagen Elastin Moisturizer.
I love the size of the container and the very
satiny softness of the cream.
This helps reduce those fine lines and yes....wrinkles!

Another product for the "aging face" is
Estee Lauder Resilience Lift Extreme.
This happened to by one of my mother's favorites!
It comes in a rather small container, has a soft floral scent
and is excellent to use for your neck and around your mouth area
for a firming cream.

My favorite "primer"
is Loreal's Perfecting Base.
Your foundation goes on smoother
and seems to look fresher
when using this primer!

The St. Ives Coconut Orchid Body Lotion
is simply divine....
it leaves your arms, legs and feet
totally silky after bathtime!

Have you tried No 7 Advanced Serum?
This was a gift from the Divine Miss M to me...
and....I love it!
It is an advanced intense serum which we both use every night.
It has proven to be very hydrating
and leaves your face much silker feeling in the morning!

So, these are the beauty favorites on our vanity these days...
They certainly help keep those wrinkles at bay..
however....the prettiest person is someone
who smiles and speaks kindly to others.........
Famous words from Mother.......
I would love to hear what your current favorites are!

  1. Love to see your current favorites.. :) I always try to use sunscreen if i know i'm going to be outside alot.. The only facial cream i use is Eucerin (sp?) calming lotion ... Its a body lotion but i use it on my face too. I used to use Oil of Olay as thats what my Grandmother used and the smell always makes me think of her but after a while i felt it was alot of money for not much result... I used to get ST Ives products when i was much younger.. I may need to look into them again. Hugs! deb

  2. Hi Betsy. I'm a L'Oréal girl for the most part, but I will have to look into the St. Ives products. They sound excellent. My favourite product of all, however, is Clinique Take the Day off make up remover. It is a smooth lotion, not an oil and it comes in a very handy pump dispenser. Just wanted you to know that after reading your post, I got up and put moisturizer on my face! -Jenn

  3. Betsy, this is a great post as you and your daughter have lovely skin. Such a sweet photograph of you two! I use Philosophy Miracle Worker serum and their morning and evening creams for my face. I also love their eye cream. Of course your last sentence is the most important and one that my own Mama said over and over again. Have a great week, dear one. ♥

    1. Good Mornig Martha Ellen! I have used The Philosophy serum also! Great product! Did you know they were a former pharmaceutical company? Their Purity facial wash is excellent to use with a facial brush too! I order the super size bottle on that one! Love that you shared your favorites on this today! I thank you for your visit and sweet comments! Hugs!!!

    2. I've been using Philosophy products since their beginning, Betsy. Since they are a pharmaceutical company that really appealed to me. I use Purity as well and I love Amazing Grace and their lotions. I use the Micro-delivery Peel pads as well as the retinoid pads. I'm a Philosophy Girl! ♥

  4. I think we all need to take your advice, as I did have a spot removed from my face this spring. I enjoyed reading what you have tried or are using. I agree it all does not need to be so expensive, but needs to be used daily that is the key. And I have found that some ladies may be too tired to really wash their faces at night. And that is important and using a good moisturizer.
I do enjoy Day Wear From Estee Lauder for my daily use. But I love to try new products! Thanks for sharing!!
    Blessings, Roxy

  6. This is a great post, Betsy! It's always nice to see what "real" women use to care for their skin, as opposed to the celebrity set. ;) Most of us don't have the money to spend on the products they typically use. I'll definitely have to give some of your recommendations a try -- thank you so much for sharing these!

    Hugs to you,

  7. Thank you for these beauty tips. I wish I had taken better care of my skin. But I do use a couple of nice products. I have tried the high dollar things and they are no better that an inexpensive product. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  9. I love posts like this! I use Neutrogena skin care products because that's what the dermatologist recommended. I do need to get a facial scrub and in the past I've loved the St. Ives products...they smell so good! I'm happy to know your opinion about the Walmart brand products because I always wonder. :)

  12. Thank you for the recommendations! I will have to look into those St. Ives products! I use coconut oil every night on my face and neck. I've been doing this for over a year. My hands are the oldest looking thing on me. They look older than my 90 year old mother's hands. Harrison asked me today how my hands got this way. I have always worked with my hands but I have always used lotions. It helps that I no longer bite my nails but nothing can help my hands now.
