MERRY CHRISTMAS MOMENTS OF 2018

HELLO LOVES!
I am loving seeing and reading about your family
Christmas celebrations.
They all appear to have been festive, magical
and full of delicious foods, worship services and fun family gatherings!
As we edge toward New Year's Day....
I would love to share some highlights of the sweet times
we shared over the Christmas season.

We enjoyed an evening full of festive fun down in
Deep Elum which is a trendy area in Dallas.

Greg and Jenn were home for the holidays
and we have so loved spending time with this
California couple!

This particular bar featured some marvelous
Christmas adult beverages!

The darling and Jenn knocked out two
Christmas puzzles which were just too cute for words!

I wish I could frame all of them as they are just
beautiful works of art!

The gifts were wrapped and all delivered
under the trees.....
some were delivered by Santa himself.........

Oh the marvelous aromas of Christmas Eve...
cinnamon, cloves, birch wood and pine....simply heavenly.....

Festive treats were all about.......

I think we all look forward to Christmas Eve festivities.....

Jenn looked so adorable in her festive
Christmas attire....she was in the spirit of the holidays....

and I did what I MOST love doing....
cooking for a big family!

We enjoyed some holiday cocktails

and THE most delicious homemade eggnog
Greg prepared in my vintage punch bowl....
this is now 44 years old.....

We even hosted the pups for Christmas Eve...
Mae was tucked away in the bedroom...
even though Franz and Mox are gentle giants.....

Miss Abbie has successfully completed
her first semester of college...it was so good to have her home
for Christmas break.....

Daughter-in-law, Catherine is the sweetest girl
you will ever meet......

We noshed on Harry and David cheese and sausages,
Hot Pepper Peach jam with cream cheese, Party Ryes
and a big pot of AppleWood Smoked Bacon Calico Beans
which we turned into Frito pies......delish!

Oh this was a big hit from all perspectives.....

We played a lively game of Pictionary.....

We laughed until we cried....
I'm not sure who won..
this was the darling's idea and it was SO MUCH FUN!

OH HOLY NIGHT...THE STARS ARE BRIGHTLY SHINING,
IT IS THE NIGHT OF OUR DEAR SAVIORS BIRTH.....

The cookies were delicious..
Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip Oatmeal

The holiday Taste Test was alot of fun....
we chose to stop filming and facetime the Atlanta gang
so they could be a part of the event.....

I will say our formal Christmas dinner was just wonderful!!!!!!

I didn't do a very good job including everyone in the photo....
our menu was DELICIOUS....
Filet Mignon Beef Tenderloin
Hash Brown Casserole
Southern Sideboards Asparagus Casserole
Holiday Honeycrisp Apple Salad
Homemade Yeast Rolls
Marscapone Limoncello Cake
Tiramisu

It was just a beautiful celebration!

Christmas morning breakfast included
Orange and Cranberry Mimosa's

French Toast with fresh berries and
Chicken Apple Sausage, along with a
Pineapple Coconut Coffee Cake.

Over in Atlanta, Snowy completed yet another
holiday season of surprises and laughter....
he even managed to prepare a fun Christmas Eve breakfast
for our Luke the Duke!

The Divine Miss M always manages to
create a beautiful holiday home!

I asked her how she manages to look this beautiful
on Christmas morning....
two of my favorite family members we missed being home!
Planning on next year for sure.....

And, we now are in the process of undecorating.....
the holidays bring forth our best creativity don't they?
We are blessed and happy....we hope you are too!

Thanks be to the LORD for 2018!
Wishing you all the best for a New Year!

  1. I love it all, Betsy! Every single bit of it!
We are leaving today and I know it’s going to be a shock to come home to a Christmas house all decorated as it was on Christmas Eve....but I’m going to go anyway. No plans for entertaining in the new year yet so I will take all the decorations down with more careful organization making it easier for me next Christmas.
Loved getting to see all your pretty things......
    Happy New Year!

  2. What a wonderful Christmas Season you enjoyed. I am so glad that your California kids made it home and how fun to be planning for everyone to be home for Christmas 2019. A full house is a happy house. It is always sweet to see your beautiful photos and the parting one is especially fine. Happy Fourth Day of Christmas!
