SUMMER PATIO PART TWO

I think we are about finished sprucing up the patio for summer.
There is a lot going on this month with
our granddaughter's graduation, her grad party,
the Atlanta family flying in, and the big move
to San Francisco happening on the same weekend......
oh yes, did I mention, our Luke the Duke broke his arm??

Oh yes....he went flying off his scooter, face first onto a neighbors driveway....
it was a traumatic event on a Sunday afternoon....

The school year is winding down and changes are happening every single day....
the move to San Fran is weighing heavily upon the darling and me....
this is a significant change for us and for them also....
I think I will be spending alot of time out here......wrapping my mind
about the fact that this wonderful time in our life is changing......

We will be saying goodbye to the Bo Bo.....not sure I can do this
without having a crying-melting moment.....
knee surgery for the darling is probably on the schedule
for the beginning of summer......

I wanted to be sure he had a happy place to enjoy nature
and recover nicely......

Granddaughter Abbie will be off to college  in August....
the family will be taking a trip to Belize right after graduation...

Our dear son-in-law, Jay, is also facing major surgery
in the next few months...this also is bit heavy on our hearts....

For some reason, beautiful days outdoors
can give us a place to be still, be alone in our thoughts and
pray for those we love....as they continue on their
life's journey.

Perhaps a good reminder......

I am loving this color.....
doesn't it just say...
Summer has arrived?

I am obsessed with lanterns these days.....

I need to make some lemonade very soon......

Opal House from Target is also helping
to make our outdoor lunches a bit more beautiful too!

Pack up all your cares and woes.....
don't worry, be happy!
Love y'all!

  1. Before you changed the photos in your header, there was a photo of macaroni salad that made me hungry every time I saw it. I can't stand it any longer, I have to ask: Do you have a recipe for it? You always have such beautiful photographs. So sorry about cute Luke's accident!

  2. So sorry to read about these life-changers...”nothing gold can stay” the poet says. Luke! Goodness. What a rude flip from the scooter! Joining you in praying for these cares of your heart. May The Lord bring everyone safely through. In the meantime, you are doing what you can to make things better...creating a beautiful patio and summer spots for relaxing and healing and enjoying.

  3. I am so sorry for the worries you are carrying right now!! I will pray for your family, I promise!! I admire how you work at the things you can control and make your home so lovely and peaceful...a place for recovery and renewal. It is too bad your grandson broke his arm, but it is almost a right of passage for a little boy, a memory he will tell his children. Take care!!

  6. Life Changes...my husband we’re just talking about this a few days ago. How once our sons were in college, we were free as birds...we’d sail the seas for months at a time every yr or jump on an airplane on a whim to faraway places or just stay home and do just what WE wanted to do! Things we never could do while raising those boys. Then they all married and started bring precious grand babies home and it seems like a merry go round where any free time as we had before just slips thru our fingers. Not that we don’t adore these precious babies, but we’re getting older and our bones are creakin’ just a bit and more often. Change is evident. Some times I like it. Sometimes I don’t. ~~~~~~~!!!!!
