SHARING NEW FAVORITES

I LUV Saturday shopping!
It was our tradition growing up,
that a good bit of Saturday was spent
with Mother going shopping and having lunch.
Those were the days when the department stores
had a beautiful restaurant, normally located on the
second or third floor, where ladies could take
a break and treat themselves to a fabulous luncheon
complete with linens, crystal and silver!

The week of rain continued to fall,
however, by noon, all was clear and the sun was shining
for the rest of the weekend!

The darling treated me to lunch
with a big ole' cheeseburger and fries at
my favorite In and Out Burger.....I LOVE THIS PLACE!

Then, with a full tummy.....I picked up some favorites
which may just become items you will want
to purchase for yourself.

A friend of mine told me about these flavors of teas which she just loves,
so I cannot wait to try each of them!
Let me know if you have ever tried these!

And, to go with our little coffee station,
I picked up this beautiful stoneware container...we are so loving
our Hearth and Hand products!

This is perfect to hold tea bags or sweetener packets
when family visits.

Ok...I could not resist this gorgeous spring mug which
was on clearance....isn't it beautiful!!!!

Kodiak Cakes!
Have you tried this yet?
We both really liked this for Sunday morning breakfast....
it has a nutty flavor as it is whole grains....
makes good pancakes and waffles!

Yum-O

As for Home goods,,,,I picked up
this beautiful trio of cotton orbs...reminds me
of the Mississippi Delta...
and a hammered silver tray with a complimentary
woven placemat...again on clearance.
I plan to use this as a centerpiece in the fall.

I also found just what I was looking for
as far as big chunky candle holders.....
love the beautiful light gray shade....
and a pair of birchwood candles...again for fall.

We are anxious to spruce up the patio for spring....
I am going to use this for either herbs or pansies...love, love, love!

Mae Mobley is loving hearing and seeing the birds
busy preparing for spring.......her favorite past time.....

My current favorite pleasure is Netflix, ANNE WITH AN E.....
I find this a richly filmed and written adaptation of
Anne of Green Gables, which Miss M used to love as a child.
This current version of Anne is darker, yes, but the thoughts of
Anne using her young imagination are so graceful, romantic and eloquent,
it is hard not to fall in love with the characters.
It is a story of the human spirit and our basic human
need to be loved and cared for.

To end this post,
I want to note the children getting together
after two long years of not visiting each other.
The cousins were amazed at how much they have all changed
and grown up....they made a lot of memories on
their trip to Atlanta and my heart is singing
to see my two kiddos together....
hope y'all had a great weekend too!

  1. What a fun post about shopping and great "finds". I do remember when the upscale dept stores had a wonderful restaurant or cafe where you could have a fancy little lunch while you were shopping. Hope you have a great week! xo Diana

  2. You always find the best things! Glad that nasty, rainy week has passed. A day or two of rain is more than enough, but a week of it is downright depressing.

It is fun seeing the cousins enjoying each other.
