I simply love it when the front door opens, and the children and grandchildren all pile in for the holidays! It warms our hearts! Let the festivities begin. Everyone seems to make a beeline to the kitchen to find out what goodies have been prepared for them! The Little Smokies are in the crockpot and the Spinach Bread is in the oven! Everyone loves this appetizer and you will find that it disappears quickly! Y'all enjoy!!

1/4 cup butter
1/2 small yellow onion, chopped
2 cloves of garlic
1/4 cup Bacon Bits
1 (8 ounce) package of cream cheese
1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
1 (10 ounce) package of frozen spinach, thawed and patted dry
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 loaf of french bread

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Combine all of the ingredients in a large skillet. Cook on medium heat until all the cheese is melted and all ingredients are combined nicely. Lay out the french bread loaf, slice lengthwise, and spoon mixture onto both sides of bread. Place on a cookie sheet and bake uncovered in the oven for about 20 minutes...till hot, toasty and bubbling. Slice before serving. This is DIVINE!!!!

  1. That sounds so good! I'm pinning this one for sure. We do soup or sometimes snacky things on Christmas Eve. This would be a hit with our crowd.

  2. I am saving this recipe for the holidays. I have a recipe that is similar but I bet it is not as good as this one! Thanks so much! xo Diana
