SAUSAGE CHEESE QUICHE.....IT'S CHRISTMAS MORNING.... RISE AND DINE!

Christmas morning is usually filled with floating wisps of wrapping paper
and contemplating the instructions to complicated electronic gifts.
So I prefer to make breakfast easy!
 
 
Put bottled water in a festive iced beverage container for thirsty present-openers.
Always buy extra bottles of champagne and put on ice for those Christmas morning Mimosa's!
Place small silver bowls of fresh strawberries and raspberries around the champagne flutes.
We add a touch of Chamboard to our Mimosa's.
The Divine Miss M often serves pink lemonade with champagne
which would be lovely at Christmas time!


Make sure you have lots of coffee, hot tea, and fresh orange juice available,
along with cream and hot cocoa for the little ones.
Put mini marshmallows, chocolate sprinkles and whipping cream in tiny bowls
 so they can create their merry cup of cocoa.


 
Think about setting up a buffet with all of these foods,
keeping everything nice and toasty on warming plates (and in crockpots, of course!)..
Everyone can browse and eat what they want, when they want.
And present opening can continue!

 


 
 Hot Cinnamon Rolls

 
Warm and buttery croissants with assorted preserves and Nutella
 


Sausage Cheese Quiche
1 pound ground sausage
1/3 cup chopped onion
1 T. butter
3/4 cup milk
1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese
3 eggs
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 t. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 t.
1/8 t. pepper
1 (9-inch) deep-dish pie crust, partially baked and cooled

 
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
In a heavy skillet over medium heat, crumble the sausage with a fork. Saute the sausage until completely cooked. Drain off the fat, remove the sausage, and set aside. Melt the butter in another skillet over medium heat. Saute the onions in the butter until tender. Add the milk and heat until steam rises, but do not boil the milk. Cut the cream cheese into small pieces, add it to the onion mixture, and remove the pan from the heat. In a large bowl, beat the eggs, then add the cheddar, the onion mixture, the Worcestershire, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly and pour this into the pie crust. Top with cooked sausage and bake for 30 minutes, or until set.

  2. This does sound like the perfect Christmas morning...I'd just have to substitute "veggie" sausage! Our grands arrive on the 26th and 29th, so we may push this breakfast to those days, XOXO

  4. Thank you so much for this lovely post AND recipe! This is exactly what WE do! We gather for breakfast with as many family members as possible at my sister's house (where my 87 year old mother lives .) We do a Chinese Christmas Gift Exchange ~ which is a lot of fun. Then we all.go our separate ways back to our homes or wherever for Christmas dinner. Thank you for your lovely comment this morning. I really appreciate it !
