Put out all your favorites to welcome Autumn!
Fill your open cupboards with brown crocks, redware bowls, gourds,
bundles of wheat and sweet scented beeswax candles.
Line your shelves with quilts or folded lengths of
homespun in warm autumn colors.
Go out and greet the sunshine.
Wrap warm breakfast breads in a vintage tea towel
before tucking into your favorite straw basket
....don't forget that vintage thermos of hot coffee or tea!
Autumn is a perfect time to check your spice rack.
Take a pinch of each spice and crush it between your fingers.
If it has a fresh, zingy scent, it''s fine to use.
Stock up on fresh nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, allspice and pure vanilla!
It's the baking season, you know!
Serve a variety of cheeses to your guests, with
fresh apple slices, and assorted crackers.
Arrange those brightly colored autumn leaves on a clear glass plate,
then place another glass plate on top to hold them in place!
Whip us some birdseed bagels so the birds can
enjoy breakfast as the chilly winds blow.
Spread peanut butter on the cut side of bagel and coat this with birdseed.
Slip a length of raffia through the bagel's hole and
hang from a tree outside your window!
Spice up an Autumn breakfast with cider-glazed sausages.
Brown and drain 1/2 pound of breakfast sausage links.
Add one cup of apple cider to the skillet,
then simmer on low for 10 minutes. So yummy!
Use cloth napkins, not paper.
Tie them with pretty raffia or silk flowers and faux berries!
Look for colorful old-fashioned cut flowers like zinnias and dwarf sunflowers at the Farmer's Market or your favorite supermarket. Arrange a generous bunch in a tall stoneware crock for a cheery centerpiece!
Make sweet Autumn Memories!
This post has been feast for the eyes!
