Spring......
Spring is the season for new life and fresh beginnings....
Did you know that spotting a Robin in the yard
is the first sign of Spring...You look around and suddenly
see crocuses blooming through and the cherry blossoms
budding...we can savor brighter and longer days.....
March winds are blowing through...
on a bright and sunny day......
Are you making plans for your garden and Easter celebration?
I do so enjoy this time of year and feel I need a refresh and renewal of sorts....
We have both been rather down and melancholy since we lost our
beautiful Mae...it's different around the house and is going to take
time to become accustom to our new normal....

I was awake at 4 AM...believe it or not.....
and perhaps that proved to be a good thing....
after my first cup of coffee....
I happened to gaze out the front door and saw
the prettiest sunrise.....

after my first cup of coffee....
I happened to gaze out the front door and saw
the prettiest sunrise.....
and across the greenbelt,
the sun coming up cast the most beautiful
shades of pink behind those stark cottonwood trees.....
I am slowly trying to bring in touches of spring to make
the house breathe again....
the house breathe again....
I haven't made pancakes in ages....this morning I wanted
to make breakfast.....just because.....
it was FAT TUESDAY....in honor of Mardi GRAS

I am going to make this chicken dish tonight! Thank you for sharing it! It looks so delicious! Great dessert ideas. I love lemon. Perfect for spring/Easter.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry still that you've lost your sweet Mae. Too soon for a new kitty to love?
Thank you Deanna..hope you enjoy the recipe....the lemon pie is a favorite it will take to recover from losing our Mae...she was our delightful, well loved baby...I hope you have some early signs of Spring at your home!
DeleteI am so sorry to read of Mae Mobley's passing. I am a cat lover and owner - I know how your heart is hurting.
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog for years, but for some reason, I haven't received your posts in my email for the past several months. I thought that you had stopped blogging. I happened to go to my Blogger reading list and this post was listed. Hopefully, I can subscribe to get future posts, as I don't go to Blogger very often. It was so good to read one of your posts, again! You were always one of my favorites.
HI Susan....I think Blogger stopped supporting the email feature some time ago...but I am so happy to have you back....thank you for reading and leaving me such a kind comment....hope your spring season is off to a good start! Hugs from me to you!
DeleteYour recipe post came just at the right time as I have been stuck in the cooking doldrums. I copied all three but the chocolate cake will probably be my first one to make. Got to buy some sprinkles! Your photos are always so lovely and so appetizing. I am sorry for your grief and know how much you miss your sweet kitty - I should say member of the family because that's what our pets are. Hope the Spring weather and gardening will lift your spirits.
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen...oh how I enjoyed your visit today.....what sweet, sweet comments you have left...so appreciated....thank you! I hope you enjoy the cake recipe...it's pretty darn good, and who doesn't find some happiness in sprinkles!
DeleteAwww....sweet friend, I know how your heart is hurting. But as the sun rises and sets and time passes, you will only remember the glorious days of having sweet Mae in your life. After losing my sophiejane of 19 yrs, I thought my world would stop. Took me 9 months to take the plunge but one morning I woke up and decided it was time. I got in my car and drove the 4 hours to the home of my PoppyPearl puppy....she saved me. Got her one week before the Covid lockdown when she was 8 wks old. It was the best decision of my life!!
ReplyDeleteAnd girl................I made that exact same dish last night but I put the broccoli in with the chicken and rice. I used arborio rice which made it more like a risotto.....we must have been on the same page!!! Lemon pie now going into my rotation!!!
Your comment and words of encouragement meant a great deal to me Janey...I do in fact, remember when you lost Sophiejane...it was a deep felt loss for you and your family...it takes some time to recover and be able to open your heart to love again....I really appreciate this.....Mae absolutely saved me while living in Maine....we were a special duo like no other....sending you hugs and love!
