Jefferson is known for it's historic homes and their
annual Christmas Tour of Homes which was just
gorgeous and so well done!
Each holiday season there are four gorgeous homes on the tour....
and such nice, nice Texas people to welcome you into their homes.
The breakfast experience was very enjoyable and the food was delicious....
I felt like a queen.....everything was planned so that you were made to
feel like their honored quest home for the holidays.....

Each room was decorated with lovely Christmas décor and it all felt
so warm and cozy....

You could also enjoy a cup of hot chocolate in the gazebo at night.....
Now, also in the news....I recently found one of my dearest childhood friends
and we connected through Facebook....we are each other's oldest friends..
how wonderful is that?
It turns out she and her husband own a grand 1907 historic
Bed and Breakfast in Laurel, Mississippi!
Which made me think, "why not provide the Bed and Breakfast experience"
right here in our own home....at least in the kitchen....

One good thing about retirement is spending a leisurely morning
sipping coffee and catching up with the news.....

Hi Betsy! I am so happy to find you home serving up your uniquely delightful hospitality.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fine way to spend your 50th anniversary! So you had a Christmastime wedding. Very cool.
What joy to find your friend and may there be a visit to Laurel, Mississippi sometime in your future.
Hi Vee....a visit to Laurel would be lovely but I doubt we make that happen. I must be honest to say my heart is not fully committed currently, but I am trying to move forward....I know you understand that feeling....thank you so much for visiting today!
DeleteBetsy, I love your focus on making daily life a beautiful experience. Why shouldn't breakfast be a time to use lovely dishes and flatware?
ReplyDeleteHi Deanna....thank you for such a nice comment...and YOU are excellent at doing this same thing....you offer such a welcoming greeting into your home and provide hospitality to all who enter...I so admire that....you have a wealth of talents that I love seeing and reading about....sending hugs!
DeleteHow perfectly lovely!!! 50 years together is really something to celebrate! I always love my every visit here with you!
ReplyDeleteLinda, I always enjoy your visits....and in turn, I enjoy my visits to you..such adventures you have!
DeleteThank you for this lovely post. You have inspired me to make breakfast a bit more like yours. Mine are usually so rushed and served on paper plates. I think I will be more leisurely today and use my nice things.
ReplyDeleteI hope you do something special...use the things you love...let me know how it goes....thanks for stopping by today Kathy!
DeleteBetsy, your bed and breakfast experience looks so charming, and the place is very nice. Happy Anniversary to both of you. 50 years is so special. I have to say that I love your vintage salt and pepper shakers. I remember those back in the day and haven't seen them in awhile. The acorn stems in the glass vase look so simple and elegant. Your Ivory dishes are perfect for these Winter days lingering. And the oatmeal! Oh my goodness, that looks good. Oatmeal is one of my favorite things for breakfast, and never thought of putting Italian creamer and cinnamon sugar in it. Sounds wonderful. I enjoy your posts, Betsy, and all the pretty touches around your home that reflect YOU! You have a flare for decorating.
