BIRTHDAY, BASKETBALL AND FAMILY

Hello Loves....
I'm so happy to have you stop by today....
today, I am sharing our very short, but joyous family visit
we shared last week.
As we grow older, which seems to be coming at a rapid pace,
I sure try to be present, in the moment so to speak,
as I know how very precious these times are.....

The day was gorgeous....
it had been many days that we had rain, so this somewhat warmer
sunny day was a true gift....it was SO GOOD to see the Divine Miss M....
she and Luke the Duke spent a few nights with her sibling so they
could visit our grandchildren.....
we enjoyed the afternoon by the pool with a warm
fire going beside us......

We all commented on how marvelous the sun felt.....
this is our sweet daughter in law, Miss Catherine....
she is probably one of THE nicest people I have ever known....
just LOVE her!

Oh, I am in heaven....
finally getting some time with this most precious little boy....
the well loved, Luke the Duke..who is now 11 years old!

He adores his Uncle Nick...they were on their way to the woods
to look at the cows mooing....across the field in back.....

Another exciting moment....
our youngest finally arrived safely from Austin...
I am always relieved and thankful when they all arrive safely.

They had decorated for Abbie's 20th birthday celebration...
we simply could not believe our oldest grandchild and only granddaughter
was now 20 years old....where is the time going???

Nick made a lovely charcuterie board from
all the goodies he picked up at HEB...
we were snacking on this prior to heading up to the
high school for the basketball game....
this was a big reason for the visit from Atlanta.....

And.....Miss Abbie met us at the school after arriving
from college...she drove in to see her Aunt and cousin
and celebrate her birthday with all of us....
another thankful prayer that she arrived safely....

The game was great...a real nail-biter and a win for us!!!
Luke just LOVES his cousin, Noah...his hero!

Now back home and time to eat dinner....
some delicious steak fajitas...YUM-O!!!!

OMG...Y'ALL....
is this cake just gorgeous...and it was DELICIOUS....
an HEB exclusive!!!
For those of you, that are not familiar
with Texas...HEB is THE BEST GROCERY STORE
in the entire country!!!!

I think she was pretty happy with the celebration....
her proud papa always makes his children feel special!

A rounding song of Happy Birthday......

The darling and I headed home after dinner as
we have a two hour drive ..
but the younger people carried the party on
with a game of spoons and 21 until about 1 AM.....

They will always find a way to work in a visit to
Whataburger on every Texas visit....simply THE BEST!

Saturday night was the family dinner at our house....
it was marvelous and everyone loved the food.....
I used the pink depression glass in honor of Valentine's Day....
and...yes, that is a reindeer in the background...
I  love him and he stays in our dining room year round...
why not?

I just can't get enough of this kid....
even though he enjoyed playing ForteNite upstairs for a
good part of this visit.....

We are fortunate enough to have family parks
in various areas of our neighborhood, so Uncle Nick
was giving Luke a few basketball strategy tips....
Luke loves this time.....
and, it was another gorgeous sunshine day....
in the 70's....beautiful!!!

How I love seeing him enjoying being at Papa and Maine Grandma's house....

I love snapping a photo of the siblings together...
minus one..our Cali kid Greg....we missed him....

So that's the snapshot of our family gathering....
This is what is meaningful in life...
it warms my heart....
THIS FAMILY........

  4. Wonderful reason to celebrate... Your granddaughter is so pretty and is leaving her teens behind. Onward and upward! That dang Fortnite or whatever it is called...has robbed us of our kiddos. 😉 Glad that some time was redeemed. You have it just right...family is so very precious and family times are priceless.
