KEEPING A WINTER LOOK

Oh honey....it has been COLD down here in Texas!
We have been blessed with a gorgeous full moon
since the New Year began and temperatures down in the teens!

As I have been packing away Christmas decor, I thought....
now wait a minute....those little trees would be a perfect touch
to keep a winter look in the kitchen for the next few months.
So, I pulled out a few items to create little vignettes
that we will enjoy through February!

Lots of creamy whites, rose golds and pine greens.......

There is somethings so special about these fairy lights
creating a warm glow in the dark nights of winter.....

Having grown up with gorgeous pine trees,
I struggle to find some here locally
and I love using them for fall and winter!

This little DIY was so simple to create
and I have just enjoyed it so much!

I had this cheese server tucked away in a cupboard for years,
and now I just love having it out on display.
The cruet set belonged to the darling's mother!

The kitchen update will be completed Friday
and we are so looking forward to the change!

Winter can be so bleak so it's always uplifting
to have something pretty to look at!

I hope you are warm and toasty in your home today...
wrapped in comfort and joy!

  1. Betsy, What a sweet vignette, I love the candle under the dome with the trees. I am keeping my twinkle lights out for a while too. I know that for Texas to have the cold teen temps is as bad as us being below zero with our wind chills. So stay warm. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  2. Darling winter vignettes. It is -10° right now. I don’t want to know what the overnights must have been. We get relief tomorrow and snow. I may rather have it cold to avoid the snow. Still I am tucked up safe and warm and that fake fire works well to make me think,I am toasty. I am amazed how far south this arctic blast has dropped. You folks stay warm, too. Looking forward to seeing those kitchen updates. 🌲🦌

    1. Hi Vee...thank you for stopping by this morning. I remember so well, while living in Maine. that so many people would leave their holiday lights up through winter...it was so pretty and fesitve since I think some got the winter blues...it helped during those long cold months. Stay warm and be happy!

  3. I love your bits and pieces of 'pretties' you left out for the winter months. I have that same cheese server! We have lots of snow here but we finally got above the ZERO mark on the thermometer---but if you factor in wind chill it is still well below zero. UGH- I am ready for spring--lol xo Diana

  5. I have the same Fresh Balsam candle. As a matter of a fact, I have 6 of them! Love the smell and they had such an incredible deal on them. I had to hide a lot of them because the Mr. thinks I'm a candle hoarder. Your house looks so nice and cozy. Have a good week.

  7. that window with the lovely vignette and cozy warmth. oh my goodness. it's just lovely.
the glow from the little lamp. the old crystal and wood. and the small pine.
I love the reflection of the lights in the window.
and seeing the stone wall outside ~ it looks more like New England than Texas!
and despite their weather I'm missing NE and upstate New York.
stay warm and cozy darling bean! it's 28 degrees here. a veritable heat wave! xo♥

  8. I really need to use candlelight more often. It is so calming. As are fairy lights. Do you mix real candles with battery operated?
That is such a pretty plate that dresses your cake stand with the tree.
Most of all, it is so heartwarming that you use treasures from loved ones.

    1. I agree..there is something lovely about candlelight. I am pretty careful when I use real candles anymore for Mae Mobley and I love luminara candles with an automatic timer! I would love for you to share how you use candles in your home! Thank you for such sweet comments and taking time to visit today..warm hugs!
