VELVET PUMPKINS ...CREATING AN ATMOSPHERE FOR THE HARVEST

Estelle's is celebrating the
timeless elegance of the season!

More than creating the most divine pumpkin pie
and cornbread dressing,
family gatherings are about creating treasured memories.

The formal dining room has always been my favorite room of our home.
We grew up in Jackson celebrating holiday dinners
and special occasions around Mother and Daddy's dining table.
We celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas at our grandparents
in THEIR formal dining rooms.
The darling fondly remembers Christmas Eve in Friar's Point, Mississippi
in his Grandmother's dining room.

We welcome the harvest season beginning in September
and this will carry us all the way through Thanksgiving day.

I want to give our family an atmosphere of bounty.

The rich hues of Autumn will be at every place setting.

I love how this simple garland, velvet pumpkins
and tea lights tucked in amongst the berries and leaves
will compliment the woodland themed dinnerware.

The colors of fall are displayed in rich abundance.

And yes...the glass goblets are going to be
used to hold tea lights for this holiday dinner.

I fell in love with velvet pumpkins a few years ago
and
am so delighted to incorporate them into the
tablescape this year.
What about you?
Have you added to your collection
of fall decorations with something you love?

  1. Betsy, I love your pumpkins and tea lights. I never remember having grandparents but longed to have some. My guardian angel was like a grandmother to me. Taught me manners, and the love of Jesus. I miss her so much. Is your husband from Mississippi?? Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  3. I love your velvet pumpkins! You featured them last year and I made some of my own. They are not any where near as beautiful as yours - but they are mine and I love them! I so enjoy my every visit here. When I'm at the ranch - which is wonderfully a lot now - I don't have as much Internet access as I do at home so I must play catch up when I'm here! Every visit to your beautiful blog is such a treat!
