THE ATLANTA VISIT

It turned out to be a great time to visit!
Since their original trip had to be postponed due to illness,
this rescheduled week proved to be good timing!

Even though our weather was a bit "iffy" on Thursday,
we spent the afternoon down in
Klyde Warren Park in Dallas.
Miss M and her family had never experienced this great
recreational area, so their first experience proved to be a good one!

The skies were overcast, but signs of spring were abundant!
All that was needed was maybe a light jacket, if any at all.
The food trucks gave everyone a variety of choices
and
would you believe our little eight year old chose a
Lobster Tail from 3 Sons Lobster!

Miss M chose this marvelous Asian Noodle bowl..
so fresh and yummy!

This was such a fun experience for them.....

Now, I chose the Bratwurst Reuben....good lord....
just fantastic!

Papa followed Luke's choice and decided on Lobster also!

Jay selected a Pastrami Reuben!
This was a loaded sandwich to say the least!

Then it was on to the kid's play area...
there was no keeping him from getting soaked at the water pools.....
he had a ball...as did every child in this marvelous play ground!
It was just fun to sit and watch little kids romp and play!

I think these two were enjoying a cold beer and people watching.......

Steaks and asparagus on the grill, along with
fresh salmon!
This was a full day of fun!

Friday was our Mad Hatter Party
which I will feature in my next post, but these
darling photos of  Luke "choosing" to write
a book report on Alice in Wonderland, all on his own, warmed my heart!

I think he loved sitting at my writing desk in the little
guest bedroom and using  "Grandma's stuff!"

He later came downstairs and read me the entire report
and it was not only accurate, it was quite creative!
Job well done Luka!

Friday night, Greg and Jenn hosted a little family party!

Just a beautiful evening......

These two always have fun together.....
great sister-in-law's!

They do a lovely job of preparing easy appetizers...
followed by Cheeseburger Bacon Sliders on Pretzel Buns
and a homemade Beer Cheese Sauce!
Delish....I actually ate TWO!

We were so happy to have a chance to meet up with
Cat.......Son #2 was out in Denver with the other
two grandchildren attending a Volleyball Tournament
and a few days of skiing for Spring Break!

Rob arrived from Austin safe and sound...
our youngest and our oldest....
Twelve years apart.....!!!

There is nothing better than dinner on Saturday night.......

This was our treat......

Great place.....great food...great service!

Our final evening,
I made a fantastic stuffed pork loin....
I am going to have to share my recipe if I can manage
to duplicate this again!

This was a wonderful visit......
summer will be here before you know it
and
the activities will begin!
I love to see them come and am sad to see them go...
but we managed to pack a lot of livin' into a few days!

  4. Betsy, It seems everyone had a great time. You certainly ate well. Such good foods. Food is better shared, I think. When I am alone, I can just eat cereal. LOL. Luke is at that precious age. I love that he did his book report and read it to you. You certainly have a good looking family.:) Blessings to all, xoxo, Susie
