O' TIS THE HALLOWEEN MANTEL

Frights and chills

  Spooky thrills

      Candy and nuts
      Seedy pumpkin guts
Tricking for treats
      Treasure bag of sweets
      A floating apparition
      Imaginative night vision
Zombie, werewolf, vampire
      Witches' cauldrons lit afire
      Creepy ghost and spectre
      Hooded Reaper—soul collector

~Terri Guillemets, "Halloween Night"

I decided to use my grandmother's sterling silver tea urn
for this arrangement. It is one of my prized possessions
and many, many years old...over one hundred years.
My darling witch was a gift from my parents.

You wouldn't believe
On All Hallow Eve
What lots of fun we can make,
With apples to bob,
And nuts on the hob,
And a ring-and-thimble cake.
~Carolyn Wells

I was over the moon happy with this darling little
crow print....there is something so perfect about crows in October!

From ghoulies and ghosties
And long-leggedy beasties

And things that go bump in the night,
Good Lord, deliver us!
~Scottish saying

May Jack-o-lanterns burning bright

Of soft and golden hue

Pierce through the future’s veil and show
What fate now holds for you.
~Author unknown

Bring forth the raisins and the nuts-

Tonight All-Hallows' Spectre struts

Along the moonlit way.
~John Kendrick Bangs

When black cats prowl and pumpkins gleam,

May luck be yours on Halloween.
