SKILLET CHERRY COBBLER

If you are southern, then chances are you
already know how to make a quick delicious fruit cobbler.
This recipe is one that is very versatile and
can be made with any fruit pie filling of your choice!
It is buttery good....
want to add ice cream?
Proceed with caution....
you will want a second serving!

1 large (29- ounce) can cherry pie filling
1 cup of butter, melted
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
2 cups milk
2 teaspoons baking powder

Preheat oven to 350°.
Pour can of cherry pie filling into a 10 inch skillet.
Pour melted butter over the pie filling.
Mix sugar, flour, milk and baking powder together to form batter.
Pour batter over cherries and butter.
Bake for 30 to 45 minutes until top is golden brown.

  1. Yum, Betsy! This is almost exactly the way I make our cherry (and sometimes peach) cobbler. I make mine in a baking dish, though; yours looks wonderful in a skillet. :) My mom has made cobbler this way for as long as I can remember, and it's honestly the only kind of cobbler I really love.

Thanks for sharing, Betsy -- hope you're enjoying a lovely day!

  2. Hey Estelle! You know I love your quick desserts. I made this last Sunday in a cassarole dish for my frisbee team. Winner! I added a little almond extract and pumpkin spice in the dough mix. Delicious.
