When nice weather comes our way,
we try our best to take lunch and dinner outdoors.
I always try to have something homemade in the kitchen,
so when the lawn has been mowed or we come in
from watering the plants, we can grab some
lemonade or iced tea, along with a homebaked
treat to take a short respite!
Y'all have got to try this chocolate banana bread!
I have made this for years and the recipe
comes from one of my old Bell's Best cookbooks!
It will definitely blow your skirt up!!!!

 1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar

2 eggs
3 medium ripe bananas
1/4 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup semi -sweet chocolate chips
8 oz. of chopped pecans
1 T. sugar

In a bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, bananas, milk and vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; add to the banana mixture and mix just until combined. Fold in chocolate chips. Transfer to a greased 9-in. x 5-in. loaf pan. Sprinkle top with granulated sugar.
Bake at 350° for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.

It's Foodie Friday!
