VALENTINE SUGAR COOKIES FOR MY SHUGAH!

SUGAR COOKIES
~Naomi Judd
1 stick butter, room temp.
2/3 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 T. vanilla
2 cups flour
1 1/2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt


In a medium bowl, beat the butter until smooth and creamy...
about three minutes.
Gradually add the sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs and vanilla.

Onto a sheet of waxed paper, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
On low speed, beat the flour mixture
into the butter mixture.
Blend well.
Shape dough into a ball and wrap in saran wrap.
Refrigerate until chilled, about three hours.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
On a lightly floured board,
roll dough into 1/4 inch thickness.
Cut with heart shaped cookie cutter
and place on baking sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes.
Cool slightly and frost if desired.
