APPLE BROWNIES.....A SCRUMPTIOUS TREAT ON A RAINY AFTERNOON

There is one thing you can be certain of.....

April Showers!

Spring Break for some of us has held true to those old sayings of "April showers!" We have experienced a few warm days with sunshine, but for the most part.....it has been cold, rainy and dreary!

Who ever imagined that such a quick and easy recipe could be SO DELICIOUS?  I had a few apples on hand and needed to make a quick afternoon snack for the children and oh my, am I glad I tried this apple brownie recipe. How lovely to pair with a cup of afternoon tea or coffee for a little pick me up!

 ESTELLE'S APPLE BROWNIES
1 stick butter, melted
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 cups chopped apple ( 2 medium sized apples)
1/2 cup walnuts, optional
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 T. cinnamon

Grease a 9″ X 9"  square baking dish.  In a large bowl, beat the melted butter, sugar and eggs.  Stir in the apples and nuts.  Mix in the dry ingredients and then spread into the baking dish.  Bake at 350 degrees f. for 35-40 minutes.

  2. Sounds delicious!

We've had a bit of snow and rain in the nights, but not too much. It makes gradually melting the snow much more orderly that way.
