It's Time for a Treat!

It's all about family and traditions. Cooking is just another way to show love; there's nothing like Mom's recipes to make someone feel important. As we enter the "Back To School" time in  most places across the country, I would like to share this recipe that I kept close at hand when my children came home so very hungry from their school day. Although they are now grown, I still have them request this every so often....

...so for all young Mothers as you encourage your young children to....leave the blankie behind, insisting bunny slippers are not shoes and share carpool with other Moms or trek down to the bus stop daily.....these warm, gooey cookie bars will bring you hugs and kisses from all your little "back-to-schoolers"....it's time for treat!

Welcome Home Chocolate Bars

1/2 cup Margarine
1 1/2 cups Graham Cracker Crumbs
1 14-oz can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1 cup Peanut Butter Chips

Preheat 350 degrees. In a 13x9 inch baking pan, melt margarine in heated oven. Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs evenly over melted margarine. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs. Then top with remaining ingredients, pressing down firmly.
Bake 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool and then cut into bars. Serve with a very cold glass of milk.
