DECLARING A COLOR OF THE MONTH FOR FALL

I'm in the mood....
My friend Miss Edna was so gracious in giving her home tour for both fall
and Christmas which I just absolutely loved!
In her fall tour, she always had her favorite candle burning in the kitchen
and it was the Warm Apple Pie candle from Walmart!
And she gave me inspiration........

It's summer and the days are hot!
This is the time I plan for the fall season
and that's not at all unusual.
Most of us, who have a passion for all things "home"
begin to gather ideas and inspiration
throughout the summer months.
The very first decision I make, is to
declare a color theme for each month...
Below are beautiful art prints to help you select
the colors of the three month of fall......

For the month of September, which is really a transition into the season
and I am selecting ivory, soft whites and wood decor pieces.
In our homes, the line between indoors and outdoors fades...you can
bring in natural foliage from your own yard, such as twigs, leaves,
pinecones and berries......
I selected a few inspirational ideas that really spoke to me.....

The natural elements right there in your own outdoor space
calls out to be used...let it be the foundation for your
decorating vignettes...it will be time to replace summer blooms
before you know it...
pair your foliage with wood and wicker elements..woven baskets
and bowls add beautiful textures..group collectibles on tables,
shelves and tables...
Suggestions are apples, branches, leafy garlands, sunflowers and
creamy white crockery vases.

So, that's what's on my list..what's on yours?

  1. Apple items are always wonderful around the Fall season. And that apple pie candle looks delightful. These are some lovely ideas you shared. I like the bowl of pine cones and other things of nature. I have to have Orange hues for Fall; it just isn't the same without having Orange at this wonderful time of year. ; )
