February's Winter Storm...Comfort Me with Cocoa

February's storm.....bringing with it record snow fall. This is Black Point Inn in Prouts Neck, Maine. I have done a few previous posts on this glorious coastline retreat and we would often visit this area and this beauty of an Inn while living in Maine. This is where Glen Close married...right there in the front grand hallway. Her house is a few feet down the road. Beautiful isn't it?

Do you live in an area where there winter white is as far as the eye can see? I know some of my precious blogger friends certainly do. Power outages were rather common during some of these storms so I learned to have plenty of candles on hand in all of the rooms. I worried so about the precious woodland animals, so I made sure the birdfeeders were full, the crushed acorns and apples were scattered throughout the backwoods and that fresh water would be placed somewhere where they could get to it and feel safe.

Ready to come inside, light the fire and sip some hot cocoa?

Estelle's Indonesian Chocolate
1/4 cup Hershey's Cocoa
1 cup water
3 cups milk
1/4 t. cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar
Fresh Whipped Cream
Stick Cinnamon

Combine cocoa, sugar, salt and cinnamon in a small saucepan. Add water slowly and stir until smooth. Place over low heat and bring to a boil. Boil for two minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in the milk and heat through. Serve in mugs, with fresh whipped cream, a cinnamon stick!
