Orange Strawberry French Toast

Now this was an "All in the Family New Year's Eve Celebration!" The Atlanta family strolled through the Festival of Lights display and savored the beautiful and magical excitment in the air.

This is a brunch or breakfast dish worthy of a Bed and Breakfast! Treat yourself to an elegant breakfast and it's a wonderful way to begin your brand new year!

Orange Strawberry French Toast
1/3cup better
1/2 cup chopped pecans
4 eggs
2/3 cup orange juice
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 t. nutmeg
1/2 t. vanilla
8 slices of french bread
Powdered Sugar
Fresh Orange Slices
Fresh Strawberries

Melt butter in a 9"x13" baking dish. Place pecans evenly in butter. Whisk together eggs, orange juice, milk, sugar, ground cinnamon and vanilla. In a shallow dish, soak bread in this mixture and place bread over pecans and melted butter. Pour any left over milk over the bread. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours. When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. and bake for 30 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with fresh orange slices and strawberries. Drizzle warm maple syrup over the top.
