Harvest Cinnamon Applesauce

It's the best of Autumn Apples

It's morning. How about homemade oatmeal for breakfast? He says that sounded really good! There's a chill in the air this morning, you know! So, we heated up the little applesauce cup to put on top of the oatmeal. So good, but I'll bet we can do better! You know, kick it up a notch, like Emeril says!

How can anyone do without a crockpot in Autumn? Impossible!
There are a million uses for this beloved pot of ceramic and stainless!

HARVEST CINNAMON APPLESAUCE
2 medium-sized Gala apples, cored, quartered, and sliced
2 medium-sized Granny Smith apples, cored, quartered, and sliced
2 Red Delicious apples, quartered and sliced
1/4-3/4 cups sugar (according to your taste)
3 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 t. ground nutmeg
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup water

Place all of the apple pieces in a large bowl and stir in sugar and ground cinnamon and nutmeg. Place the apples in a large crock pot and sprinkle with the lemon juice. Pour 1/2 cup water over all.  Cover, turn the crockpot setting to Low, and cook for about 8 hours, stirring occasionally and breaking up the apple slices with a wooden spoon as they soften. Serve warm!

The end result......BAM!!...much better, don't you think?
