A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING FALL

"How do you fill your days?", she asked....

Let's begin with that first cup of morning coffee
as we listen to the news and browse through a few
seasonal magazines and catalogs......

Then something hot and delicious for breakfast

There is always a bit of decorating to tend to......
I am sure you have seen the latest trend in layering your
door mats.....
I am guessing this is still on trend with FARMHOUSE style decor,
by layering a woven black and white mat beneath a seasonal
door mat....cute, yes, but I had an "AH-HA" moment!

I thought why on earth would I spend money on this lovely woven
rug and put it outside on our front entry with fall weather
rolling in....think of those rainy cold days....it would get ruined!
So, I decided to use this as the farmhouse table runner.....
the cute seasonal rug was placed outside by the back door off the porch.

The few dollar items I picked up from Target ended up being used
as a layering piece for the sunflower arrangement.

I am rather pleased with how this turned out....

with the pumpkins being the star of the show!

The perfect time to change out the garden flags.......

It's good to take time to bake something delicious for dinner....
hot buttermilk cornbread to accompany those Cajun red beans and rice.....

I try to always make time for an afternoon tea break.....

We end the evening by watching one of our favorite movies
for the season.....
it tells the story of the coming of age of our nation...
a tapestry of American life so rich and perfect it
could hang in a museum......

  3. Betsy, How clever to use the rug in such a way. I love all the cute things . I have to tell you that is one of my all time favorite movies. I actually thought of it the other day...thinking of the man that broke in new shoes for the rich. :):) Now I am wanting some cornbread. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
