BEGINNING THE HAPPIEST SEASON OF ALL

Perhaps it was the fall decor still sitting on the dining table....
the fall bins are still in the foyer......
order had not been restored from Thanksgiving....
no ideas, nothing to inspire....what to do? What to do?
Honestly, things like this wake me up at 3 AM.....
crazy I know!
But, then...like magic, it came to me!
I pulled out my little felt pillow I had purchased
while living in Maine and it all came together...
THIS was to be the theme for the Christmas mantel this year!

My newest Santa is going to be placed by the hearth......

Oh...he was perfect for the woodland look I am going to create...
soft grays, silvers and reds.....
I am so excited to begin the design!
Mae and I are listening to soft holiday sounds on Pandora
and decking the halls......

What colors are your Christmas accessories this year?
Is your theme Traditional, Playful...Elegant perhaps?
It's the happiest season of all....let's make it the prettiest one yet!

  1. Sounds dreamy to me... Betsy, if there were an award for 🎄most 🎄lovely 🎄headers🎄, you would win. I lowered my blood pressure just looking at December’s.

  2. Betsy, I can not wait to see the mantle. I was having a hard time getting into the mood. Today it will be a bit over 3 weeks till Christmas. I want to get my decorating finished so I can enjoy it all. So Today I got the tree in the house, the lights are on and I have the totes ready to go. So tomorrow, I will spend a good bit of my day getting it all together. I love your pillow and the Santa. Blessings , xoxo, Susie

    1. Hi Susie! I know what you mean...it seems that even before Thanksgiving, some people jump into Christmas....I have to wait a bit and slowly transition. I think sometimes people find it hard to feel instant joy and excitement as we did when we were children...but it shall come, I know it! Have a wonderful weekend love!

  3. Sounds great to me, especially the grey and red. Woodland setting - can't wait to see it. I am still trying to finish decorating after 3 days. For some reason I just cannot get with it.
    I do love that pillow.
My sister lives in Corinna Maine, wish I could be there as she sends pictures of how beautiful it is in the snow at Christmas.

  4. Betsy, I have always liked the woodland Santas. I know you and Mae will get it done. I'm putting Fall away this weekend and hopefully will start feeling Christmas by Wednesday when colder weather is expected here. I, too, love your header.

    1. Hi Jane...How I love hearing that you are putting fall decor away too...it's our favorite season...I so agree that cooler weather helps get one in the spirit....rather mild right now! Hope you have a fun filled weekend!

  5. Kathy-I am still putting fall away and trying my best to make my home look like Christmas. There is so much to do! I love your theme for this year. Are you doing black and white for your décor? I know someone else who is doing that. I have never thought of black and white as Christmas colors, but I may have to rethink this.

Hi Kathy....never would I decorate in BLACK for Christmas! That just does not appeal to me at all. I love golds, reds, forest greens, blush, silver.....I'm a pretty traditional girl. How about you? Hope you are having a lovely weekend.

Jmac-Hard to feel the spirit when you’re sweating putting up decorations...driving home from Dallas today, my car outside temp read 78 degrees. In december!
But decorate I’ve done in reds and greens so I can sit back and enjoy the season with twinkling lights and the air conditioning turned on!

Hi Janey....it is indeed a mild start to the season. We experienced that when living in Florida...never seemed like Christmas!
