SPRING AROUND THE HOUSE

There is so much beauty in a Texas sunrise!
I absolutely LOVE the vibrant color of green
in early spring!

Everyone gets a bounce in their step and thoughts
turn toward new garden plants and accessories!

A new garden flag in my new colors
for spring...deep purples and yellows!

The azaleas are particularly beautiful this year!
They always bring me back to Mother and Daddy's
yard in Jackson....and our home in Dothan....
we had beautiful and bountiful azaleas!

I have been in love with these Mexican Pottery Sun Faces
for a long time.
I came across this one at Home Goods down in Austin...
One of our chores this spring is to freshly stain our fence,
so when that's done...I will find the perfect place to display her!

One of my favorite coffee table books
from former Southern Living at Home Hostess days.

I must buy some tulips this weekend......

It's the perfect time to find new Spring recipes....

I am planning a spring brunch....
French Toast with Caramel Apples
Potato Fritata
Waffle Napoleons
Wild Rice Quiche
Kiss My Grits

Now here's a fabulous treat for your springtime breakfast....
ever since my waffle maker went kaput,
I have occasionally craved a hot yummy waffle for breakfast!
These Thick and Fluffy Belgian style Eggo waffles are divine!

You know you want one........

As far as baking day on a spring afternoon........
how about an old fashioned Butter Cake!!

What are your plans for this Spring day?

  1. Its still cold here but we've had sunshine for a few days in a row, so I am in the spring state of mind! I need a good tidying up around here this weekend (we've had company and have been out and about), so I am thinking of some fresh flowers!

  8. Contenting myself with watching the birds and tending to my dad today. I made him Shrimp Pea Wiggle for lunch. He was pleased...something my grandmother would have made for him. Now that butter cake looks like something yummy for sure. I also like to have frozen waffles in the house. Comfort food!

  9. Hi Betsy. I loved this post---the promise of growth and green Spring days. We are preparing for some FREEZING RAIN tonight. lol We cannot plant outside here until June 1st! Before that we risk freeze or killing frost. Our summers are so short. I love that you have pretty things blooming already. Hope you have a great upcoming weekend. xo Diana
