THE HALLOWEEN THEME...JUST HAVE FUN!

I said I really was not going to do much Halloween
decorating this year.
Well, son #2 told me to just go ahead and
"have fun with it!"
And so it began........

And he is so right....
just embrace that inner child and go for it!

I am not and never have been into
skulls or ghoulish creatures......
but I do so love darling little whimsical characters
for All Hallows Eve........

You know what time of year it is when
Estelle's welcomes you into her kitchen.

The black and white theme just sort of evolved......

I found this darling little table runner
and when I saw those frills and darling little
witch boots....well.....I just couldn't resist!

Woo Hoo........

I gave the tiny pumpkins a bit of height
with Mother's little jello molds.....precious!

I so wish the grandchildren would pay me a visit......

I just love these little twin jesters....
they are about thirty years old now.

Don't you love showing your creativity
and how ideas seem to come together!

Uh-Oh....looks I need some more candy corn!

I just love this crow...or is he a raven?

Mae Mobley being scary......Boo!

  1. Love your table scape! I have my porch decorated, but with four cats, the inside is somewhat limited. Such a beautiful time of year with all the flavors of fall, XOXO

  8. Love all your decorations. I have never been into the witches, ghosts and goblins of Halloween, but decorate with pumpkins and black cats. Your things are so cute and I love the black and white theme. Seeing your house all decorated made me smile.

  10. I LOVE your black and white, Betsy; it looks so snappy! :) The table runner is darling, and I love the gingham bow and napkins. The vintage jesters are just charming; I've never seen any like that! I agree with your son that you should have fun with fall decorating, since this is your favorite season.

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

  11. Betsy- It DOES look like you had fun with it. I don't like the ghoulish stuff either. I really like the cute and warm welcoming autumn feel for Halloween. Give me cute little princess costumes instead of someone with gore coming out of their head. lol
Love your black and white theme and those cute napkins and plates. Just perfect! xo Diana

  12. Thanks so much for sharing your "fun-side" of Halloween. I don't really like the skulls, blood and spiders that seem to be the theme of so much Halloween decor in homes with kiddos of a certain age....I much prefer the cute stuff! I've used a lot of black and white checked ribbon in my Fall decor this year and just love how it pops.

  13. Love this! The black and white adds so much to the look. I want to tell you that I made the two-ingredient muffins you showed a few days ago. What a hit. I had a yellow cake mix on hand and it worked great. I will try the spice next time because that sounded delicious, too. My son leads a youth group every Sunday and I always send a snack. This week, they will be getting these muffins! Thanks for sharing the recipe.
