CRACKER BARREL BISCUITS

You are always going to find homemade biscuits at Estelle's!
The pantry is also filled with a variety of the best jams I can find!

The darling treated me to a morning breakfast
the other day at Cracker Barrel
and I had almost forgotten how delicious their biscuits were,
so I just had to bake some at home!

CRACKER BARREL COPYCAT BISCUITS
2 1/4 cup Pioneer Baking Mix (or Bisquick)
2/3 cup buttermilk
1 t. sugar
1T. melted butter

Mix first three ingredients together and stir until a soft dough forms. On a floured surface, knead the dough and then roll out to 1/2 inch thick. Cut individual biscuits with a biscuit cutter or round drinking glass. Brush the tops with melted butter, Bake at 425 degrees F. for 8-10 minutes.

Have you ever seen anything more beautiful........

Now here's a little tip to all you young ones out there....
don't overlook the cooking utensils that belonged to your
grandmother or your mother....they will become
beloved additions to your kitchen someday....
these belonged to my Grandmother Grace
and I marvel at how many years
these old utensils have been around.....

Sit down, put your feet up, breathe deeply
and enjoy a hot biscuit with butter and jam!

  1. We are all about the biscuits here at our house! We have a recipe that is for Buttermilk Biscuits and we also make Bisquick Biscuits but haven't mixed the two. Thanks so much for this. About the tools, we use the pastry cutter that belonged to my MIL. She's been gone a long time but it gives my husband comfort using something from her. :)

  2. Betsy, how pretty your biscuits are! I bet they taste even better with great jam. I agree it's fun to go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. I love their hash brown casserole. Your advice to the young ones is so true! Those old kitchen treasures bring the memories of loved ones right beside you as you bake. I love your plates! ♥
