We just did not get enough....
time.....
to visit with the youngest...
so we took the celebration to him!
Austin!!!!
Any good Texan knows the drill!
You head down to Austin
and make a pit stop at
the Little Czech Bakery in West!
Kolaches for everyone...
sausage and cheese for him
and
Apricot and Raspberry for me!
We always arrive just in time for lunch...go figure that one!
We tried a new Cajun seafood family owned dining spot!
Delicious!
Let's see....
Red Beans and Rice, a cup of Shrimp and Crab Gumbo and a Shrimp Po-Boy!
I listened as they discussed real football and fantasy football....
BORING!
We swing by the hotel and check-in...
unload bags and they wait for me to give the thumbs up.....
the coast is clear.....
I approve!
I do so love a nice hotel...
a bit of luxury for the weekend....
We take a scenic tour of Austin...heading south...
The Longhorns were playing their first home game
against Rice, so we know to avoid the campus and downtown...
a traffic nightmare!
We stopped at a high end Whole Foods and marveled at the produce!
Yes, I begged for a pumpkin and would you believe he said
"NO......too early and too expensive!!!"
Sooooo....we headed up to The OASIS!
An old favorite from soccer days...
OH MY...things have changed!
This was just gorgeous...
all three levels surrounding Lake Travis!
A margarita sounds good about now....
I want one of these....
Yep....how great is this view?
I think you could not ask for a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon....
handsome guys and a glass of wine....
Me and my precious...
I am always so happy he is still willing to take a selfie with his ole' Mom!
Gorgeous!
We were just amazed at the changes...
second largest restaurant in the state
and
seats 3,000 people
Reservations at 7:30
on to
Steiner's Steakhouse
Dinner at sunset
What an amazing view of Austin and Lake Travis
Amazing steaks and shrimp....
did I mention we ate our way through Austin?
We said our good-byes after an amazing and hearty breakfast!
I thought this mural of Austin and the bluebonnets was just breathtaking.
On our travels home.
I just had to snap a picture of beautiful Waco.
Collin Street Bakery is a must-stop!
Cherry IceBox Cookies and Chocolate Drizzled Macaroons!
I think I could spend hours at this beautiful and busy bakery!
Do you think we gained weight this weekend,,,I asked.....
Never mind...
I don't want to know...
it was a fabulous time..
Happy Birthday Rob!
