BLACKBERRY BARBECUE SAUCE FOR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND
BLACKBERRY BARBECUE SAUCE 1 T. butter 1/2 cup minced onion 2 t. minced garlic 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped 1 cup ketchup 1 cup vinegar 1/2 cup molasses 1/4 cup blackberry preserves 1/4 t. salt
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Add the onion, garlic and jalapeno, stirring until the vegetables are soft, about five minutes. Stir in the ketchup, vinegar, molasses, preserves and salt. Simmer over medium to low heat for twenty minutes.
