THE THANKSGIVING MANTEL

This little guy had me at.....HELLO.......
I found this beautiful watercolor fox on clearance at Pier One
last summer and it just spoke to me that HE would be
my inspiration for the fall mantel!
I was not sure what colors I wanted to use to accent
the lovely soft blues in the background, but I certainly am pleased
with the results!

I found a sweet little fall wreath with neutral tones
and added a soft sage pumpkin in the center.
Target had these beautiful sage pumpkins this year
so I bought some for all of us....daughter, daughter-in-laws
and combined deep blue greens and varying colors of sage
for the pumpkins.

This just seems so lovely and soft as this
darling little happy fellow smiles back.....
We enjoyed this for the entire month of September,
changed it out for Halloween, and now
it's back for November.
I have found that I really enjoyed that this year....
this way we were able to enjoy the seasonal decorations
all through the fall season

Lo and behold I came across this sweet hand hooked
fox accent rug, which was going to be just perfect
placed on the hearth for Mae to stretch out in front
of her fire for those cold fall evenings.

I have also so loved the autumn banner...

The theme was THE FOX
and I will say, this may have been my favorite fall mantel of all times.

  4. I do love this! I love that fox picture and the rug- how perfect! I wondered if that was a wreath- love how you added the pumpkin to it. I bought one plate at Pier 1 with a fox and used a fox for a wreath. I like how you arranged everything- an enjoyable mantel to view!

  6. Your softer, blue theme for Fall this year is very pretty. I think the fox picture could go back up after Christmas with a winter theme and you could enjoy him 'til Spring! I don't shop like I used to, but I recently went into Big Lots to get a night light, made a quick tour of the dishes, and found two owl mugs. I put dried corn shucks and sprigs of bittersweet in them, and owls became my mantel theme. It's so sweet that you think of your girls when you shop!

I think they are! I love your mantel and your fox.
the only think better would be to see the fire lighted and little mae
