SUMMER LIVIN' IN "HOT-LANTA!"

SUMMER is in full motion over in Atlanta...
Luke the Duke is enjoying play dates and
afternoons poolside......
not a care in the world.....

There is something special about
Saturday nights....
our tradition growing up was
Daddy grilling steaks with a scotch whiskey in his hand
and spinning memories .....
the tradition continues throughout the family....

I will say our son-in-law makes
THE BEST soft shell crabs....

It took me a few times to get used to eating these,
but boy oh boy.....it is pretty delish.....

I can just smell that aroma of the grill from here....

Luke has a rather sophisticated palette....
PIPER on the other hand...wasn't too sure about it!.

Boy Scout camp begins.....
and as he said.."It's a blast!!!!"

He also continues his summer reading program....
I LOVE that Miss M continues to make this a priority...

Summer evenings are enjoyed
down by the pond on the golf course......

There was a big 9TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!

HEY....an early morning road trip.....

to the Gaylord Marriott in Nashville

I know we want to go, don't you?

A mini-vacation
was worked in to Daddy's work week....
Looks like our MAD HATTER party last month was perfect
for this Alice in Wonderland theme......

Remember all the fun you used to have during
Summer vacations......

  1. This is a great post, Betsy!! What fun everyone is having and that's what summer's are for. Seeing Luke reading his "Calvin and Hobbes" book brings back so many good memories. We all love those books here; we've saved all our copies. Will even occasionally puts one of the C and H pictures on his Facebook, and he's 27 years old. Timeless humor. :)

I'm glad your daughter and son-in-law are able to do special things with Luke -- they're making memories for a lifetime. Have a good day, my friend!

  2. I just love this post! We have "Saturday Steak night" at our house too! Daddy comes over and I fire up the grill and throw on some tenderloins, t-bones or ribeyes...funny story..Last father's day I tripped over my flip flop while grilling steaks..I refused to go to the hospital until I finished grilling those puppies..saved $75 worth of meat..but ended up in a cast for nine months with a broken leg and ankle! They all had to harass me this father's day..at least it was less dramtic than the last one and all bones are intact! ;-)

  4. My grands just got sprung yesterday! Can you believe it? Good thing that they didn't have to endure too many 95° days with 25 kids in a room and no AC.

Happy Birthday to Luke🎈I know that he will have a very happy summer if the beginning is any indication!
