THOUGHTS OF HOME....THE GIFTS OF SPRING

Happiness and contentment come naturally in Spring....
What brings you a smile each day?
For me...it's my pair of Mourning Dove that coo for me to fill the birdfeeders...

It's when I walk outside on a bright spring day
and
our pear tree is bursting into bloom.....

Pulling everything together in one place
in order to create a pretty little vignette....

Spring certainly tells us a story of rebirth....
and provides us such a sense of peace.

I look forward to creating a beautiful space outdoors...
seeing green and all the pots filled with color.
We love sitting and watching and listening to the birds..
the sweet sounds of nature.

And those beautiful warm days when we can be lazy
and grill out well into the evening...
these are my thoughts of home today.

  1. ahhh...Spring...we can all hardly wait...I am so anxious to set up a pretty little spot, right outside my back door, with a potting bench, pots stacked and ready for use, little tiny seeds started in a tray....just can't wait. Our tiny greenhouse should have been doubled in size...it is full to the brim now. Son is building raised beds outside to transplant squash and peppers and tomatoes...

  2. Betsy, I am right there with you girl. Spring time here in Texas is amazing. I can see the trees in the greenbelt behind our house leafing out today. The water in the pond is sparkling. It's time to cook hamburgers and eat outside!

Thanks for joining Thoughts of Home on Thursday. You are always welcome with us. :)

  4. Part of spring's appeal, is the way it is the warm and gentle bridge, between the cold of winter, and the heat of summer. For me, anyway...

Is your chiminea area, in the back of your home? It is landscaped so perfectly...

    1. Hi Tessa! Thank you so very much. Yes, this is the back patio of our home...we love it! I appreciate your kind comments. You will find that most homes in Texas go for shrubs, rather than flowers since it does get so hot during summer...hard to keep plants thriving. Whereas, in Maine, anything grew so beautifully with little effort. However, their growing season is far too short!!! Enjoy your weekend!

Hello lovely Texas friend! What gorgeous inspiration you are sharing with us today.
Makes my heart and spirits soar.
I just took a photo of some pear trees blooming while on my walk this morning, and the red buds are on the cusp of blooming too.

  7. We are ready for spring here, but it's February in Pennsylvania which means it can be mild and the next day cold and snowy. I have a Cleveland Pear tree and I love it!

  10. Our mourning doves are favorites at our house too, they are rather large birds and peaceful. They don't push out other birds and their colors are pretty, soft greys and tan. Spring is on its way; I planted 10 Lily of the Valley pips last week and hope they grow.
