KICKED- UP FRITO PIE

Super Bowl Sunday!
It's what the guys live for!
Are you attending a party this year?
If only they would change the game from Sunday to Saturday....

What delicious food will be on your menu this year?
We are going to be serving
Frito Pies and Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars!
MAN FOOD!!!!

Could there possibly be anyone out there that
does not love a good Frito pie?
Don't open up a can of Hormel Chili....
to make a good Frito pie,
you must start with a good chili!!!

KICKED-UP FRITO PIE
1 1b. Ground chuck
1 lb. bulk sausage
2 T. butter
1 medium onion, chopped
1 bunch celery, chopped
2 cans diced tomatoes
1 can pinto beans
1 can kidney beans
1 can chili beans
1 beef bouillon cube
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 t. garlic powder
1 t. Italian seasoning
1 t. Tabasco sauce
2 t. chili powder

Fritos
Sour Cream
Shredded cheddar cheese

Brown the ground chuck and sausage together. Drain and set aside. Melt the butter in saucepan, and sauté the chopped celery and onion for about five minutes. Add the browned chuck and sausage to a large stock pot, then add the celery and onion. Do not drain the cans of beans and stir in the beans to the meat and veggie mixture. Add the bouillon cube. Season all. Allow to simmer for at least four hours….covered.

To assemble, place a handful of Fritos in a bowl. Top with ladles of chili. Add chopped fresh onions, sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese!

GO DENVER!!!!

  2. Super Bowl Food! Yessssss!!!! ,-)

'Pop' is bringing his family-famous Mac and Cheese, next door. Was going to bring chicken liver pate too, but only if he can find chicken livers. Oh my, those things are both deeeeeeeelicious! Don't know what other food they will have.

I don't go next door for the game, etc. But have my own G/F goodies here! :-) I can watch some Hallmark Movies. :-)

    Go Denver and Peyton!!!!!!!!

  3. Go Denver!!!! Yeah another Denver fan!! :)Oh i hope Manning gets to go out with a bang! I'd like to see that. When my daughter was in the band in school Frito Pie was our staple every Friday night! :) We have only attempted to make it at home once or twice... and not with good chili .. we always used the can chili. Still tasted good though..but not as good as if we were at the football field... something about the atmosphere i think... :) Hugs! deb

    1. I totally agree Deb! High school games and Frito Pie...nothing tasted as good as that! My husband and I attended college with Archie Manning, so we are big Manning family fans! Let's hope for a SB win for Peyton!!! Thank you for visiting today!
