OPEN HOUSE PUNCH

What would I ever have done without my Mother?
Entertaining was her specialty,
so Miss Judy and I were fortunate enough
to learn from the "hostess with the mostest!"
Summer months often mean you throw open
your doors and welcome family and friends into your home
for a relaxing weekend just visiting and catching up
with each other's lives.
Mother served this cool, refreshing punch
often when we would host cousins and company!

OPEN HOUSE PUNCH
1 (46 ounce) can of Hawaiian punch
1 1/2 cups fresh orange juice, chilled
1/2 cup lemon juice
2 (12 ounce) can of 7-up chilled
1 (16 ounce) can of crushed pineapple, chilled
1/2 pint of fresh strawberries, diced

Mix all ingredients together in a large pitcher.
Place in freezer until slushy.
Serve ice cold!

  1. A can of Hawaiian punch! Just those words, bring back memories. :-)

Is that the front of your home? If so, it is lovely.

  2. Isn't that the truth...Hawaiian Punch....took me back to when I ran across Mother's recipe! This home is a private residence I photographed on Peaks Island in Maine. We ferried over to the island often. Very quiet and peaceful.

  3. This punch looks sooo refreshing, Betsy -- thank you for sharing the recipe with us! This time of the season always feels full of promise, doesn't it? Lots of summer activities to look forward to. By the end of July, I've usually had it with the heat and humidity. ;) I, too, love the picture of that beautiful home; it looks so comfy and inviting.

Hope you have a great day!

    Hugs,
