CHRISTMAS FIRESIDE MANTEL

Good Morning LOVES....
how has your week been?
Today, I am sharing our mantel all dressed in her
Christmas finest.....

I chose my inspiration piece from the artwork which
features a darling brick home which reminded me a house
we visited in Boston. The sign in front says, "JOY"..
which is what the season brings to us.
I added this beautiful Santa to my collection and
just love his wooly fur coat.....a beautiful face too!

This Santa is from Valerie Par Hill, as is the Christmas tree.....

I think he's beautiful....so glad to have him.....

Behind this Santa is a frosted blueberry pick....

Now, I ask you..how darling is this reindeer?

I adore this canvas....again, the inspiration piece
for this year's mantel....

I just added other pieces here and there....and we quite
enjoy the finished look....

Isn't he face just about perfect?

Another lovely tree from VPH.....

These are the stockings I chose this year and yes,
they are from Amazon.

Stockings are a lovely accent....sometimes makes me sad
knowing that they will not be filled with goodies for the children....
I always loved doing that....along with Santa of course!

CHRISTMAS CREATIONS AT HOME..A SMALL HOLIDAY HOME TOUR

Remember the anticipation you felt as a child
of waking up on Christmas morning and rushing into the living room
to see what Santa brought to you and left under the tree...
oh to be a child again at Christmas...keep that joyous feeling in your heart!

Savor your days with the comforts of home.
There are days that I like being my age.
I am enjoying putting away the fall decor
and rummaging through all the Christmas decorations
to create our holiday home without rushing to get it all done.
This is simply the beginning of creating cozy corners
which still need a bit of tweaking.
So today, I invite you to take a peek inside
and enjoy a little home tour.

This little vignette is by our big bay window
so the lighting is always a bit tricky...

It's fun to see what little things you can add to a corner
to achieve the look of whimsy.....

Peppermint sticks are fabulous as stirrers for Hot COCOA.....

I purchased this darling little Santa last year
from the Valarie Par Hill line...isn't he too cute!!!

Santa in his warm fleece robe and fuzzy slippers
enjoying his cup of hot chocolate.....

I came across this darling little tin on Amazon which I knew
I wanted to use to hold a little Christmas pine......
This little vignette is a work in progress....
I am really drawn to vintage looks this year!

I decorated the kitchen island in a black and white theme..
these sweet little houses were from the Target dollar spot last year...
and they light up in the evenings!

It's fun to dress the Kitchen Aid for the holidays...
a few tea towels and a sweet little ornament added a perfect
and festive touch!

I plan on filling these with Christmas candy...the
grandchildren love these tins which I purchased
from the Container Store a few years ago.

I have had this spoon rest Santa for many years
and just love him on display!

I just love this snowman candle....
he is just happy hanging out on the Magnolia cake stand!!

The mantel is completed and I will say,
this was so much fun to design...

The theme is called Winter Blush
inspired by the Opalhouse Holiday Collection from Target and Pier One.

The Foyer

The theme I chose was Woodland Plaid!

Christmas Music and Baking Day while decorating.......

Morning coffee with warm freshly baked
Cranberry Bread......

Mae Mobley's Christmas tree.....

A peaceful December evening.....

Napping to Pandora Christmas......

This weekend we will put the tree up, decorate,
bake cookies and play our traditional Christmas music....
then it's on to the formal dining room and living room....
hope you are enjoying your December days......

Cheers Y'all.....

TOUCHES OF EASTER

I debated about taking everything off the foyer table
and create a clean slate to begin decorating for Easter but
then decided I wanted to incorporate an heirloom, a bunny
and a few spring florals with the existing table runner and decor items.
And, I love the look!

The Spring pastels just pop against the black and ivory......

I am really enjoying separating the bunnies this year
and just placing them in nooks and cranny's throughout the house....

For the florals, I chose various shades of pink...
peonies, hydrangeas, dogwood branches and roses.
The greenery used are eucalyptus, ferns and baby's breath.

There are times when I create my arrangements in
my Grandmother Estelle's silver tea urn.....I absolutely love this piece!
Isn't this bunny adorable....I thought the back of her
showing her little outfit was just SO sweet....

She is part of a couple from Valarie Par Hill on QVC...
This little boiled wool outfit is precious!

I also added a touch of vintage Easter to the table.

Do you decorate with birds in Spring?
I have loved anything with birds since I was a young child...
rather funny how that happens and your interests seem
to stay with you throughout life.....

I love it....not over the top,
but a sweet reminder how soft and beautiful Spring can be...

I kept the mantel simple yet cheerful and sweet.....

Such a gift God gives us...
Happy Spring Y'all!

THE 2017 CHRISTMAS MANTEL

Our mantel is my favorite space to decorate for every season.
I so enjoyed putting this together based on inspiration
from my little Christmas pillow from our Maine days.

The woodland theme throughout our home evolved from this one
sweet little pillow.
One Santa, one reindeer and the trees.....

We have really enjoyed this every evening....
I love the textures, the touches of plaid, the tiny white lights....
it has that woodland, yet elegant, look of our woodlands in Maine.

I do believe he is my favorite Santa in my entire collection...
I love his face, his expression, the lantern and his gray felt coat
sprinkled with a touch of frosty snow.....

I was looking for just the perfect deer to pair him with and found him..
both were purchased from Lowe's.
(please ignore my hand in the photo!!)

I fell in love with this metal tree from Target....a different texture and
just what I was wanting for the woodland trees.....
I paired this tree with the pinecone/berry tree.

I added another frosty evergreen/berry arrangement and draped
the mistletoe greenery throughout the vignette.

I am loving the micro strand lights....they are so easy
to work with and add the perfect touch of soft lighting....
both were from the dollar isle at Target, last summer.

The silver ice trees are from the VPH collection...
the little plaid houses are from Pier One.

He looks like a very sweet kind Santa doesn't he?

Oh how I love deer....just majestic and beautiful......

The last purchase was this gorgeous garland....
it all came together and we love it!
And yes....we are MERRY and celebrating the Christmas season.
We hope your holiday is Merry and Bright also!
