was all you hoped for....full of laughter, sunny skies,
delicious foods and family loved so dearly...
ours's was all of that!!!
It was a beautiful fun-filled week with our son from California....
just could not have been a better visit....
we took a delightful walk around the neighborhood on this
gorgeous November afternoon......
He had finally been able to get a few days of rest before this....
he has a rather stressful job and with all of the exhaustion that comes
from traveling and job pressures.....I think this was a much needed break!
with the smell of pinion pine burning in the chimenea..
my all time favorite time of year....
We actually celebrated Thanksgiving on Saturday'
so our son who lives in Austin could join us......
this was the year of Smoked Turkey...turned out to be delish!
This year, our granddaughter's handsome beau joined us....
this is Brennan....best guy you would ever want to meet!
And...her beautiful bestie Amelia was here too....
best friends since the age of four!
They love to play games and it doesn't take much before the peels of
laughter begin......
Time for dinner.....
My eyes are always bigger than my tummy....
how very delicious!!!
Our sweet endings were all homemade...
Butter Nut Rum Cake
Apple Crisp with Ice Cream and Salted Caramel Drizzle
Pumpkin Pie with Whipped Cream
My sweet friend Joy on Facebook,
requested I share the recipe I used which you will find below!
Thanksgiving Day 2021
We count our blessings....for good health, wonderful food and
a well loved family!
What a good looking family. So wonderful to have the gathering with your loved ones. I am sure the food was out standing. Blessings to all, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteThis looks and sounds like the perfect Thanksgiving! How wonderful to be surrounded by your children, grandchildren and friends.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful for you and your family to be together for Thanksgiving! It looks like you had a great time. We celebrated on Friday with our kids and grandkids. We had lots of food and lots of fun. But I have to say this ole Granny was tired!
ReplyDeleteLove every word and every picture! Yes, we have so much to be thankful for and I am grateful we could all be together again after the lonely times of 2020. Thank you for the recipe! I may make that for our Christmas Eve gathering.
ReplyDeletePerfect! Although we enjoyed a weather perfect day, it was not a perfect sort of day. Still we enjoyed those who were present and prayed mightily for those who were ill and not able to attend. I vote for having another Thanksgiving where we can all be present. On second thought, that sounds exhausting.
ReplyDeleteOh the Christmas header is wonderful. That precious kitten makes me smile.
