This was the Maine House the winter we moved home to Texas!
Our deck, our woodlands!
I think Mae Mobley misses her deer. She was entertained daily with their visits!
Not much to look at these days at the Texas house
other than leaves blowing about in the wind......sigh.....
We were reminiscing about our favorite Bed and Breakfast in our little
New England Village in Maine!
Many winter evenings, we would make the short trek down the street and
have an intimate dinner.
You would always be greeted by the B&B proprietor and
talk politics over a beautiful glass of Merlot!
We sat at this very table...the darling and me!
Dinner here would always be very relaxing......you were encouraged to take your time,
enjoy the cocktail hour while listening to local musicians
play the piano or the guitar and not be rushed to order dinner.
They also do a fabulous weekend brunch with the best Bloody Mary's you ever sipped!
Their apple bourbon pancake!
Why oh why did I look at this before breakfast.....
now, of course I want pancakes.....with lots of Maine blueberries!
Their new mascot!
Now is this not THE CUTEST face you ever did see?
I cannot wait to hear what his or her name is?
I can just smell that sweet puppy breath!
Yes, that was life in Maine!
Good Times!
It's noon, but I'd love some Apple Bourbon Pancakes! Love the new mascot and will look forward to his naming, XOXO
ReplyDeleteMe too Susan! We miss this little B&B. Life in Maine was so quaint and beautiful! Hope you are having a wonderful day!
DeleteWish I were there having one of those bloody marys now...looks like a wonderful place to relax and just ponder the seasons...thanks so much for sharing the lovely pictures and the lovely story
ReplyDeleteThank you dear Phyllis for stopping by Estelle's today! Glad you enjoyed this little memory of our Maine life! Appreciate you!
DeleteYour favourite B&B looks wonderful, Estelle. The puppy mascot is so cute! You must sort of miss the Maine winters with all the pretty snow and the cozy feel of a warm house, a hearty meal and lots of tea. :) Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteActually Pam, we miss the beautiful snow falling, but not the long winter season. We are southerners and it seems we just love warmer weather! It was cozy during those months......sure was! Thank you for stopping by today!
DeleteWhy oh why did you ever leave?? Its sad you had to leave what was so obviously a place you loved. Life!
ReplyDeleteYou never know where life will take you. It would have taken an awful lot to drag me away from the life in Maine that you describe...... Hugs! deb
LOL....why did we leave Maine? My husbands job made us an offer we couldn't refuse,,,AND.....we did not intend to live very long without our children and grandchildren. Life is about family to us. The decision was easy however, we could not have chosen a more beautiful Maine adventure!
DeleteOh my, and now I want some pancakes too!!
ReplyDeleteOh Miss Beth....I have the best pancake recipe coming up you will want to try....it's out of this world good! Stay warm precious!
DeleteHow lovely to have such a B&B just down the road. No wonder you miss it.
