I have a painting that I hang in the winter. Other than that I like the feeling of a clean an uncluttered home after all the extra do+dads of Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteHappy 2020!
Happy NEw Year! I am just taking my tree down today, we always leave it up until the Feast of the Three Kings. It looks like you are ready for a nice winter, enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI always decorate for the winter. White lights and snowflakes in the windows. A sled on the front door. Snowmen placed around the house. It looks so bare after Christmas without putting something out. I'm so glad I am feeling well enough to read blogs again. I went back and caught up on your Christmas and New Year's. So glad you were able to celebrate with family. And your home looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, I always decorate seasonally. My tree is still up wearing lights and icicles, probably for another week, unless I get a spurt of energy. My candles, winterberries, winter scenes, and seed lights are still out. This will continue through February, perhaps March, depending on the weather. I need these things up here in the tundra. Now I think you really are decorating for winter. That puzzle is beautiful, the soaps. the candles. You can’t fool me!
ReplyDeleteI love the Bath and Body works Hot Chocolate candle too. I love reading your blog. Every picture is gorgeous. You are a remarkable decorator and hostess. HappyNew Year from Michigan.
ReplyDeleteHow very kind of you Mitzi..welcome to Estelle's...wishing you a very Happy 2020!
DeleteLOL!
ReplyDeletewell... you deserve a break. but you create a beautiful home in spite of the formality of the word décor!
I can't wait for your inspiring winter posts. have a wonderful week Betsy! xo
Never decorated for winter. I just have a few pictures of winter. I don't know where that started but no I don't. I went into pier one today to look at the candles and the spring stuff is being put out along with Valentines day. I want to enjoy the seasons and not rush them. I like winter days to wind down and enjoy the calm. I love to drink hot cocoa outside watching it snow.
ReplyDeleteI like your eggs with onion and cheddar, yumm. Those gorgeous candles. I must get by bath and body works and get some of their candles.
I have a winter puzzle to put together also. I just enjoy these days, well, after I finish with this tree undecorating it anyway. I love your post today and that magazine is new to me, looks like a good one.
Happy New Year

No way Jose!!! I JUST finished undecorating my dry house where the baby boys family is living. And I have to tell you when I looked at my empty dining room table, dressed with only a burlap runner and a green plant, that I have at least 340 days before all the clutter comes back out!! (Only took me about 20 min to take down decor at lake tho! - I’m kinda digging the less is best theory)
ReplyDeleteTomorrow I mark another yr of my life gone by and this one is really getting to me. I think for first tim ever, I’m acknowledging that I’m old...AND I DO NOT LIKE IT ONE BIT!!!!!! Hahahaha
