Another Summer comes to an ending
and
the kiddos are back to school....
The Atlanta family enjoyed their last hurrah
on their annual "glamping trip!"
Luke the Duke managed to create a magical campfire
mostly on his own...those Cub Scout skills are paying off!
There is nothing more relaxing than a campfire
by the river....raccoons and deer paid a nightly visit!
The perfect place to enjoy the cocktail hour if you ask me!
Not only did he make the campfire,
he prepared the entire evening dinner!!!!!
Ah...morning in the mountains...
hot coffee, Bloody Mary's and Mimosa's..
this is MY idea of camping!
Luke has become an old hand at Paddle boarding and even
the Divine Miss M mastered this sport.....
Georgia is simply beautiful isn't it?
I think Luke enjoys this family time more than any other
vacation they take....good memories made and kept!
We were invited to be part of the adventure
of moving Abbie back to school....
She still maintains her volleyball scholarship
and begins her Sophomore year!
The morning started out with pouring rain,
so thankfully by the time we reached her school,
the sun was shining and the clouds had cleared!
This child is organized and had a plan,
so it was a relatively painless move-in!
Let's all wish her a happy and successful year!
Of course, we miss her already.....
We got to know Brennan a bit better over this summer and he
is the sweetest, kindest boy ever...they make a great couple!
Brennan maintains his baseball scholarship and is off to begin
his Junior year at a college in Oklahoma!
Once the move-in was completed we headed further
down to Midland to spend some time with Cat's family.....
Oh dinner was terrific at this quaint little Italian restaurant...
we loved it!!!
We had about five dogs along for the evening....
this is Murphy!
I know it was great to visit with Cat's Aunt and her cousin...
these ladies are delightful.....we had a ball......
Interesting conversation filled the room......
I even managed to stay up past my bedtime.....
Sunday morning, Cat's sweet cousin, Grant
had made the most delicious carafe of coffee...much needed...
He taught me the art of making a fabulous frittata....
and then texted the recipe...how darling is that....
gosh this smelled so good..but it was time to hit the road for home......
It's been triple digit heat here in our lovely state of Texas..
football practice has started and the kiddos are gearing up for another
school year....and....fall decorating is underway...
hope y'all had a great summer .....now bring on the fall......
Poor kids going back to school already. Seems as if they just got out! Yes, wishing your granddaughter a wonderful sophomore year. Loved seeing the camping activities in Georgia. Luke is one accomplished young man!

I love this, yet felt a tiny bit sad...kids going off to school does that to me. Luke is an amazing boy. Growing, learning and teaching. I love his dinner. The picture of him on the lake is a sure keeper. I know that when you have gatherings it always seem to be a great fun time. Memories for all. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteHard to think of kids going back to school. Ours have another month of vacation. First day of school is September 3 here. Luke is an impressive kid. Looks like he had a wonderful time. Best of everything to Abbie. She looks happy to be starting a new year.
