GARDENER....... person who tends and cultivates a garden
as a pastime....or for a living....
I do neither......
I am still tending to my little Trader Joe's rose bush
I bought a few months ago....
I am down to a single rose....
I did manage to put the cushions outside on the
furniture yesterday and "prepare" to
buy some little garden herbs this weekend....
I think I like accessorizing more than planting....
or just listening to water sounds and birds chirping...
I do not enjoy digging in dirt....
especially when I come across a worm....
We are working in our backyard this weekend and it is a mess.It will be our project for the year. I think at the end of the day I will be like your Mae Mae.
ReplyDeleteIt takes a while for spring clean up doesn't it Betty! I am inspired to get things done while the weather is just gorgeous! Enjoy your outdoor chores and have a wonderful weekend...warm hugs from me to you!
DeleteBetsy, At least you are getting outside and doing things...isn't it nice? Hope you plant that rose bush. It may come back . Your gnome goes well with the watering can. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteHi dear Susie....thank you for dropping by......I am determined to keep the roses thriving! Enjoy your week..hugs from Texas!
DeleteGardening is a messy business, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteI shall keep trying Linda....enjoy your week!
DeleteI have some weeding to do this weekend. I can’t wait until I get some mulch and won’t have to weed so much!
ReplyDeleteOH Deanna....you always have amazing things growing in your sweet cottage garden....I wish I could learn some of your secrets!
DeleteI love the results of gardening, but it is indeed a bit of a slog sometimes. Your little rose bush is still hanging in there! If you cut it back and give it a little plant fertilizer it may surprise you with some more buds. :) (then you can officially call yourself a gardener!) -Jenn
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenn....that's what I intend to do...I just love it! Hope you are enjoying some beautiful days!
Deletei used to enjoy it but not like some who 'really' garden. that first picture is so beautiful Betsy.
ReplyDeletei'm more like you and Mae. i love the 'idea' of it all. but oh my... these pictures.
i could more enjoy a book a cold glass of something delicious and that gorgeous kitty. xo
Tammy, what a sweetheart you are....love your visits always...hugs for the week ahead!
DeleteThank goodness we don't all have to love the same things. You create beauty, gather loved ones, and cook amazing food all the time.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll share this at the garden party. I'd love it!
Aw thank you dear Stacey...I am afraid I'm a bit late to the party....I would not want to begin to compare my black thumb with all of the amazing gardeners in this group! Wishing you a great week ahead!
DeleteI'm not fond of worms either, Betsy. I remember coming across a few snakes in the great state of Texas. Ugh. Probably the only thing I don't miss about Texas. Have a good one.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha.....finally something we dont have in common!!! I LOVE digging in the dirt..in fact my sign off to all of my friends around here is LYMTD....Love ya more than dirt! and they then know that's A LOT...
ReplyDeleteAfter spending the last 14 days in hospital with my son, all I wanted to do yesterday was dig. My body is physically exhausted and emotionally? Well, I'm just spent. So I knew exactly what I needed to do when I got home. DIG. PLANT. PRUNE. JUST BE ONE WITH NATURE. It is the very best therapy I know and it totally soothed me yesterday to be stinky and sweaty and dirty with beautiful new plants to tend at the end of the day.
Can I move today? Not so much!!!!!!!!! With each passing year, I get slower and slower...heheheh
