The very first thing that greets you
when walking into her kitchen
is a lovely clean, linen- fresh scent
and
then summer blooms in every nook and cranny!
You can't help but relax and breathe deeply!
There is just something about SUNFLOWERS
that seem to say....
"Don't worry....be HAPPY!"
They are the ultimate summer bloom....don't you think?
Just look at her Peonies...
can you believe these were found
at the local Publix....
Mother's favorite flower...
just stunning!
Oh, and the little glass jar...
a dollar find at Target!
At first, I thought these might be faux tulips....
but no...fresh and velvet soft...
LOVE the color combination!
I think these are going to be my new
summer colors....just like pink lemonade!
Hey....it's five o'clock
our cocktail hour.......
Jenn gave Miss M this little sign
which was found ....at our local
Third Monday Trade Days, no less!
Good conversations go on here....
our favorite place to sit and relax...
Now, while Texas has been experiencing HOT June days,
Atlanta was enjoying cool low 80's...
just lovely to sit and enjoy the golfers drive by!
I think I see Miss Piper on her morning walk with Miss M.......
The boys must be up to some mischief....
always.....
The lawn has been recently relandscaped and sodded....
simply stunning!!!!
I tell you...
Atlanta is simply lush and beautiful!
As I was standing in the kitchen, talking to
Miss M while she was preparing dinner,
I noticed all the pretty little vignettes she had created...
so it was time to snap a few photos....
I fell in love with this container...
would you believe another dollar find at Target?
I gave her this little tray years, I mean, years ago........
It was perfect for a southern home with
lovely dogwood blossoms!
Lovely choice of summer peach for the bench...
The Williamsburg print belonged to my
Mother and Daddy which she reframed...
I LOVE that she has those prints!
A beautiful spot on Mother's secretary...
You know...of all the pieces of furniture that belonged
to my Mother and Daddy....THIS is the one piece I LOVED...
I knew when the time came...there was no other place
that would feature this more beautifully,
than Miss M's home in Atlanta......
I was so right...Mother would be so proud!
Not only that it has been refurbished so beautifully,
but that it graces the home and belongs to her
favorite granddaughter!
This is my FAVORITE room...
The windows are simply stunning!
Another lovely visit...
memories made for our Summer trip...
we packed alot into a short time....
the swim meet.....
shopping, celebrated a birthday, golf, a movie, the zoo.....
I saw lightening bugs for the first time in years.....
thank you for a lovely week of fun!
A lovely, lovely home...
ReplyDeleteAs is yours of course.
Her grounds are so beautifully landscaped.
Only thing...... Does her yard company use poison??? Do they have to put little flags around, when they are done? Warning people and pets to stay off, for a certain amount of time? Because of the poison chemicals, they laid down?
Who warns the birds, bee, butterflies, squirrels, chipmunks and other wild life?
We have less birds, butterflies, hummingbirds... And NO frogs in our little pond, this year.... (Needless to say, we do not use chemicals on our lawns. Just our grand son cuts them. So of course, they are not perfect.)
But I can not but blame ALL the perfectly Manicured lawns, all around this city. Every time I see those little warning flags, I cringe.
That grass poison goes down into the ground and on, into streams and etc. too. It's a deadly "gift," which just keeps giving...
-sigh- -sigh- -sigh-
Tessa
They do not use chemicals on their lawn....she has a child and a Labrador....just water! They have squirrels, chipmunks, deer, bunnies and birds....it's a happy place!!! Hope you are just enjoying a lovely week dear Tessa.
DeleteYour daughter has a beautiful home and yard! One can see that she has her mom's knack for creating sweet little vignettes and corners in her home. It's so nice that she has her grandmother's secretary and print. The little corner she created with the bench, throws and floral basket is so lovely! I'm glad you had such a nice visit, but happy to see you are back online again. Will you be posting pictures of your grandson's birthday party? You made such sweet little decorations for his party. I'm sure he loved it.

ReplyDeleteI love a home that is loved, and you can tell they LOVE their home! They've surrounded themselves with family heirlooms and how special that The Duke will grow up with those in his memories, too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Summer, Betsy!
Hi Deanna....Thank you for such kind comments! They do have a lovely home and love making family memories! All homes that are filled with family harmony and love are beautiful aren't they? I always enjoy seeing your gatherings and your beautiful family! Hugs!
DeleteWow, this is a stunning home. The windows, the decks and the lush lawns and shrubs. How good your parents' secretary furniture has a prime spot in her home.
ReplyDeleteHi Terra....glad you stopped by and enjoyed this post! Hope you are staying cool and having a fun summer!

DeleteHi Betsy,
ReplyDeleteYour daughter's home and lawn are just beautiful!! I confess I'm envious of those gorgeous blue hydrangea blossoms. ;) She has learned good decorating skills from you, it's obvious. The bench, the secretary, and the Williamsburg print are gorgeous (Williamsburg is one of my favorite places to visit)!! We are fortunate to have some heirloom furniture from our parents, too, and I'm sure your daughter treasures the pieces you've gifted to her.
I enjoyed your post, Betsy, and am glad you had such a lovely visit with your family. Have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs,
Denise at Forest Manor
Good Morning Denise! What lovely and sweet comments you have left us! Thank you for this! Williamsburg is indeed a very special place...we lived in Virginia Beach for a year and visited often. I love her hydrangeas also and believe it or not, last year they were pink and this year decided to bloom in that lovely soft blue! I hope you are enjoying a lovely summer! Hugs!!!
ReplyDeleteI am just catching up with your posts and so enjoying my visits! Such pretty things to see everywhere I look!! I have a secretary very similar to yours. I bought it at an antique shop/thrift store and just love it! So elegant and so many stories I'd love to hear if it could only speak!!
