Over in Atlanta. there was a party going on!
The Divine Miss M threw a festive Independence Day celebration at the last minute and did an outstanding job of making things festive for the little ones!
She made Popsicles out of lemonade with a star shaped ice cube made from
pineapple, blueberry and blackberry juice....
how cool and refreshing is that?

We celebrated July 4th in addition to a special birthday
of child #3, son#2!
Nick and Cat hosted their second holiday/birthday bash
and
would you believe, I did not take a single picture?
There were relatives and friends to see and visit with
that we had not seen in three years.
I can tell you the food was AMAZING,
their home looked gorgeous,
the party was festive and fun
and
everyone had a fabulous time..
We saw fireworks in several towns all the way
home from the interstates...
Magical, I tell you.....
The very best thing I tasted was a hard choice..
Cat makes an amazing brisket
the Lumberjack Baked Beans were fantastic,
there was Greg's fresh Black Bean and Corn Salsa,
in addition to his Yum-O homemade Guacamole,
Shrimp, Mac N' Cheese. Caprese Skewers,
Fresh veggies and stuffed mushrooms....Tres Leche Cake
from Whole Foods
( I don't pronounce this properly.....
it sounds French when I say it and it was clear I do not speak Spanish)
and Elizabeth's Potato Salad...
Good lawd....this was to die for!!!
We are planning to include this for our beach trip...
so wish I brought some leftovers home...
Oh yes.....did I mention there was an oven fire two hours before
their guests of 40 people were
scheduled to arrive...
Ten fireman later....(all ten of them cutie pies)
all was well....
Franz even went swimming.....
BUTTERMILK AND DILL POTATO SALAD
3 pounds small red potatoes, quartered
1/2 cup sour cream
1/3 cup buttermilk or crème fraiche
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 large garlic clove, minced
Place potatoes in
a Dutch oven, and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 15
minutes or until just tender; drain. Cool for 30 minutes.
Combine crème fraiche or sour cream and remaining ingredients in a
large bowl; stir with a whisk. Add warm potatoes; toss gently to coat. Serve at
room temperature or chilled....divine!
Oh yes....Luke the Duke lost his first tooth...
The Tooth Fairy left a $1.00 gold coin...
