There is nothing new. It's all from the past.
I'll just bet you can find inspiration for decorating your home for the autumn season,
right in your own home.
Not only can it mean savings,
it may evoke some lovely memories.
I chose a few items that would be the inspiration for today's autumn vignette.
This petite cup and saucer, along with this William and Mary pitcher
caught my eye right away.
The vintage cup and saucer belonged to Grandmother Estelle
and the pitcher was a wedding gift of ours from a close family friend.
I also chose to create the vignette on Mother's cherry wooden serving tray.
One
Little Thing
When
it’s the Right Thing,
Can
Fill a Room
Yet,
another reason
To
fall in love with Autumn
The Vernon Rose tea-cup is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you Deb...it is so small and delicate! My dream would be for Grandmother to just walk through the front door and marvel at some of her beloved belongings. I hope she knows I am just "safekeeping" them for her.
Delete-happy sigh- You have such beautiful items... And you do such lovely arrangements, with them.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, falling in love with Autumn... I always do.
And I want to look forward to savouring everything about the Autumn Season. Making it last... Not letting thoughts of coming dark/rainy November, enter my mind. :-) Keep my eyes, on the beautiful colors, the abundant fruitfulness, etc. of Autumn...
Tessa~
You are such a love Tessa! It's our season isn't it? In Maine, the snowfall would appear in October....but the month was also spectacular beauty. Texas normally has perfect Novembers....always something to be thankful for! Blessings to you!!!
DeleteI love your old china! I also use my old dishes all year around for decorating with. I just add a few seasonal things to them and move some things around. It's affordable! :) Have a beautiful week! Pam
ReplyDeleteI love that you also, use your old dishes Pamela! I think I like it better than buying all new! Seems to have more meaning! I would love for you to share some of your treasures! Thank you for visiting me today! Blessings to you!
DeleteWhat a beautiful Fall vignette you've created with your special treasures. I'm ready for some cooler temperatures in North Texas!
ReplyDeleteI like how you pulled all of these pretty things together to form such a lovely fall vignette. The tea cup is like the icing on the cake. The colors in it are gorgeous and the memories of your grandmother make it all the more special.
