This is a moist and ever so flavorful banana bread!
It would be wonderful to bake and serve your little ones for an after school treat
or to take to the teachers one afternoon!
School bake sales will soon be scheduled on your calendar and
this quick bread will be received with rave reviews!

Estelle's Sweet Tip~
Add 1 cup chopped walnuts, 1 t. cinnamon and 1/2 t. salt to kick it up a notch!
CHOCOLATE BANANA BREAD
1
cup margarine, softened
2
cups white sugar
4
eggs
6
bananas, mashed
2
teaspoons vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup sour cream
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat
oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease two 9” x 5” loaf pans.

In
a large bowl, cream together margarine, sugar and eggs. Stir in bananas and
vanilla. Sift in flour, baking soda and cocoa; mix well. Blend in sour cream
and chocolate chips. Pour batter into prepared pans.

Bake
in preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center
of a loaf comes out clean.

DeleteHI Estelle! This looks incredibly yummy and i've already copied down the recipe....One question though........You mention adding salt as a tip...... but should it not be a part of the main recipe? doesn't the baking soda need salt to work??? Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteThe original recipe does not call for salt Deb. I initially made this as the recipe stated and it turned out perfectly! Enjoy!
