Hello Lovies...
I'm so glad you dropped by to see me today....
yes, it's October and the temps outside are slowly beginning to cool off....
so, I thought you may find some inspiration
in making your home feel cozy while celebrating the fall season!
We begin our day with a scrumptious Autumn breakfast....
hot sizzling bacon, warm apple crescents and pretty fall napkins...
accompanied by fresh homestyle orange juice!
It was the perfect day to make some homemade potpourri
using fresh apples, citrus, cinnamon sticks and allspice......
Let this simmer throughout the day and your mood
will be happy and content!
Add some Mrs. Meyer's seasonal scents
to your cleaning routine....the Acorn Spice is my absolute favorite
for cleaning countertops in the kitchen!
An apple pie???
Yes, I love a Mrs. Smith's Apple Pie...
brush the top with a freshly beaten egg,
then sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon...the way Mother taught me....
Divine, I say......
We all love making soups and stews during the fall and winter months...
it's a good idea to know how to make a delicious homemade
chicken soup, especially when cold and flu season arrives....
my secret to a delicious chicken stock is to roast the chicken
before adding it to the stock...then let it simmer most of the day
to flavor all the fresh vegetables...be generous with the seasonings
to include thyme and oregano!

Autumn evening in the foyer.......
Enjoying my visit with you, looking at the pretties. Inspiring.
ReplyDeletesometimes, I put the chicken in and get the flavor out of it, and roast the chicken the next day, or visa versa, meal stretcher. I just made chicken soup the other day, it was so good and comforting. We have some for leftovers, it's going to be getting colder. Love making soup.

DeleteMrs. Meyers has that scent? I must look for it. I am happily running my diffuser with autumn scents and a room freshener in apple cider. I’d love to make the potpourri, which must smell amazing. I thought it was breakfast for a while.

Deleteyou are KILLING me with all this Fall goodness! You really know how to do it with LOVE!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnother little tip for Mrs. Smith apple pies?? Make a caramel sauce, even using the ice cream topping, adding pecans and amaretto. Pour that over the top of pie last 10 min of baking. Tastes like a caramel apple!!!!
