December's moonlight peeked through the curtain lace,
casting swirled patterns upon the floor by her bed.
Woken by summer's wind chimes that changed
maniacally from the oak out back,
she sauntered down the hallway to appease a midnight craving.
The north wind whined through the panes
as the tea kettle obliged her mug.
Cupping it in both hands, her stocking feet lured her towards the
hearth where the tree beckoned with illuminated allure.
She submerged into the cushy chair while draping
a woolen throw onto her flanneled lap.
Leaning back, she closed her lids and breathed in the minty Frasier
fir that mingled with the aroma of hot cocoa.
Twinkle lights frolicked upon the myriad mementos that dangled
from cranberry and popcorn strings that would soon be
tossed into the yard for grateful winter birds.....
All was calm......all was bright.
Wishing you many blissful moments
this Holiday Season.
What a nice post! I love the little video at the end. Hope you are having a good Eve of Christmas Eve.
ReplyDeleteBetsy, Wishing all of you a wonderful Christmas time together...those that can make it. Sending warm hug to those that can't . I already celebrated and feel a bit sad now with one daughter has flown off to Seattle and Granddaughters back to their homes and work. Thankful by oldest daughter Angie is having a Christmas brunch for Ted and I and her son. There will be 5 of us. Blessings to you dear friend. xoxo, Susie
