SO MUCH FUN WEEKEND!

There is probably nothing better than high school football
in Texas on a Friday night!
We take our football seriously.....it's the best of fall!
The evening was perfect weather with the sun setting as the band of the
home team took to the field....

Our grandson Noah. who is a freshman actually
made the VARSITY line-up....

We grabbed a hot dog at the concession stand which
brought back memories of when the darling and I worked
the concessions for all four of our kiddos!

It was a huge win for our team
with a heartbreaking loss for the home team as it was
their homecoming!

Miss Abbie made it to the game during the 3rd quarter
after they played Volleyball in another city!
We treasure the times we are able to spend with them
since time seems to be flying by at a lightening speed!

Saturday we were on the road bright and early
to celebrate the birthday of Rob...our youngest!
We had 12:30 movie tickets......down in Austin.

This was our first experience at the Moviehouse and Eatery...
the popcorn and pizza were delish!

We are fans of Stephen King novels...always have been.
We were apprehensive about seeing the new version of IT
so we all bravely went in with eyes wide open.
The movie was better than we anticipated...
excellent screenplay, with top-notch actors and director!
We all really, really enjoyed this movie and gave it 5 stars!

We then did a bit of shopping and checked into our favorite hotel!

Time for a freshening up for dinner and then cocktails
down in the lounge/bar area.
We caught a few snippets of the LSU/MISSISSIPPI STATE game...
disappointing loss for our LSU TIGERS!

We were going to have dinner at a new Sushi place,
but even at 8:00 PM, there was a 2 1/2 hour wait....
onto plan B.....

I had wanted to try this little authentic Italian Bistro which
proved to be MARVELOUS......

We were all starved by this time so since it was a perfect
evening down on Congress Street, we enjoyed wine
and some fantastic Italian dishes.....
a perfect Saturday down Austin way....

We gathered for breakfast at I-Hop, then hit the road
back to Dallas....Rob had a party to attend out on Lake Austin....
it was yet a grand, grand time celebrating with our birthday boy!

Over in Atlanta, there were baseball team parties,
along with a classmate birthday party to attend.....

Wouldn't you just love to spend afternoon in their gorgeous pool....
Miss M said the house was even more amazing....
so....good times had by all!
I hope y'all had a great weekend too...can't wait to read all about it!

  4. Hi Betsy; So happy you had a great time with family. You are so right, time just leaps and bounds forward waiting for no one. Italian is one of my favourite types of food. I had an extremely busy week helping our daughter with drapes that I made and for diningroom, sunroom, the two older girls room (she has 4 girls) and she's our only one and the master bedroom. The livingroom and office are being custom made. I have to say they look magnificent but boy oh boy what a lot of work. 3 days to be exact of 10 hour days, but alas they are finished. Sat I had my husband bring our fall bins from storage as we live in a small condo with little storage and started to go through them. In Canada as you probably are aware our thanksgiving is the weekend of the 3rd of Oct, so one has to move move move.hahahahahaha, well at my aging years we will just say move once. hahahaha. We had a wonderful bbq with friends and a birthday celebratio in there was well. I actually thought September would bring a much slower time for me with the school starting but alas, it's busier than ever. I cannot get over how fast September is going. I am trying to just enjoy all the moments but it won't slow down, hahaha despite my efforts. Hoping we get some cooler weather to feel like fall. Take care.
