This was my Daddy's favorite cake ever!
I started baking this from the time we were married
and often served it for breakfast, as a coffee cake
and most holidays!
There is no one who doesn't love this classic!
Sock It To Me Cake
Cake
1 box vanilla cake mix
1 cup sour cream
1/3 cup oil
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
4 eggs
Filling
2 Tablespoons of the mixed cake mixture
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup finely chopped pecans
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. On medium speed, mix all the
cake ingredients, saving out 2 Tablespoons for the filling. Pour 1/2 mixture
into a greased small Bundt pan. Mix ingredients for filling together and
evenly spread over mix. Top with one half of the remaining cake mixture. You
will have about 1/4 of the entire mixture left which you would use is
making a large Bundt cake. Bake for 40-45 minutes, cool in the pan for 30
minutes, the invert onto serving plate. When cooled, mix 1 cup powdered sugar
and 2 Tablespoons of milk. Drizzle over cooled cake.
OMGOSH! Honestly, I have never, ever heard of this cake. I was thinking yesterday about making a bundt cake...this one looks like fun! Thanks for the recipe. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteOh I can see why that was your dad's favorite...it looks so yummy. I love things that have pecans and cinnamon in them. That glazed frosting is a plus to me. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
